Oprah Winfrey Network SUED
Source: Huffington Post

Oprah is facing another lawsuit — this time, from a former employee at her not-yet-launched cable channel. Catherine Dunn, a former assistant at the Oprah Winfrey Network, filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Friday claiming she was "subjected to a hostile work environment" because she suffered from Multiple Sclerosis.

Dunn is suing for wrongful termination, claiming she was made to take a leave of absence due to stress and her MS symptoms and then was replaced by "a non-disabled and younger employee."

OWN is a partnership between Oprah Winfrey and Discovery Communications. Over the weekend, the New York Post reported that Discovery was pouring more money into the network, doubling its initial investment. The network is slated to launch in January.

The queen of daytime TV is a lawsuit magnet: in recent years, she and her companies have been dragged into lawsuits over her South African girls' school, injuries on her show's set, book club software, breach of contract, alleged extortion, and a flight attendant on her private jet's claim that she was wrongfully terminated over false allegations of sex with the jet's pilot.

5. It's never the Oprah corporation's fault. Corporations only excel through unicorns and rainbows.
All hail Oprah.

2. I'd like to know . . .
Did her supervisor demand she take a leave of absence? It reads "made to . . ."

I have empathy for this woman - I have ankylosing spondylitis - another auto immune disease. People who don't have these illnesses or this spectrum of illnesses have no idea what it's like to have to struggle with your physical body daily. If she was under undue stress - they might have been trying to 'push her out'.

to see how far it goes before people stop taking sides and start asking questions relevant to forming an informed opinion. If this were Rush Limpballs instead of Oprah, that question may never have been asked.

7. Oprah is a greedy capitalist
She wouldn't be mega rich if she paid a) her employees a fair wage and b) a fair tax rate!

In a society based on equality, there is no room for the rich!
