Aren't bed bugs proof of lower standards in all hotels
The firing of union workers including senior room cleaning staffers, part- time low paid foreign workers who can't complain; cut backs on changing bed spreads etc; cut backs on disinfecting hotels rooms and so on.

Bet the shareholders are making more money.

10. Don't really care. There have been hundreds of stories about bedbug epidemics across the USA since
the beginning of the year. This link says it's happening around the world.

Globally Bedbug cases have been on the rise recently across the world.

As stated above, the most-cited reason for the dramatic worldwide rise in bedbug cases in recent decades is increased international travel. In 1999, four separate infestations throughout the United Kingdom alerted people to the possibility of an increase in the worldwide bedbug population, facilitated by international travel and trade.

13. Wasn't aware of the global dimension
but it makes sense since they're all lowering the standards.

12. We are. There were stories about bedbug infestations in
hotels in France a few years ago and there was a whole series of articles about students encountering bedbug problems in their study abroad program. Santa Clara even put out a publication about it for their study abriad program.

11. Actually it is a problem anywhere is the world that prohits DDT wich seems
to be the best deterrent. They are also turning up in the very best hotels and private homes so it isn't about cleaning standards. They are very hard critters to kill.
