I just changed my mind RE global warming's primary significance

Note I said "primary". Yes, it's bad and getting disastrously worse, and yes, the world's in for a shitstorm because of it. HOWEVER, there happens to be something else going on that may have as much, if not more, of a damping effect on our beloved planet. (Pun intended, as you'll see if you read on.)

The earth's magnetic shield is weakening VERY fast, signaling several hundred years of magnetic chaos and a complete reversal (pole flip).

This will be ecologically disastrous because this shield, generated by earth's molten iron core, protects us from the sun's cosmic rays. As it weakens and becomes chaotic, the world can expect increased exposure to the sun's rays, which means, among other things, cancer and other illnesses, and DRAMATIC CLIMACTIC CHANGES. The effects are already beginning in real life- there's already a large area of magnetic reversal in the southern hemisphere. It may take a couple hundred years to intensify, but it is real, and it is happening. And the effects may last for hundreds of years.

Think I'm kidding? They've been proving it for over fifty years now. Think I'm exaggerating? Research it yourself and get back to me with your disproof.
