Poll question: Retry Blago? |
|
Edited on Tue Aug-17-10 07:37 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
My take:
They got the man convicted of a crime. (though how lying to the FBI got to be a crime...)
The whole case is embarrassing to everyone who touches it. Using vague crime categories to criminalize being a political sleazeweasel invites abuse (political use of justice system a la Rove) as much as it fights corruption. It was a political crime and a political price was paid -- impeachment and removal from office. On top of that, a criminal conviction. This citizen considers his pound of flesh gotten.
Just declare victory and drop it.

1. I'd rather try Bush, Rumsfeld, and Cheney than retry Blago. |

5. I'm not aware of all the facts of the case |

I forgot most of what I learned when the story broke. Whatever is appropriate I'm fine with. Whether that is re-try or not.
