by Alan Grayson
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/8/17/894088/-What-Should-I-Tell-the-President

President Obama is coming to Florida tomorrow, August 18th. I'll see him in the evening, and when I do I want to give him and his staff your comments.

Submit a comment in the comments thread below, and I'll print them out and hand-deliver them to the President and his staff. In order to make my flight, I'll need your comments no later than noon Eastern Time.

You can also submit a comment here.

1. Thank him for standing up for American Muslims, and
reinforce the idea that Americans need jobs. That would entail getting those recalcitrant Dems to go along with whatever he has in mind. And support the tax cut for very rich people vs. maintaining tax cuts for us little guys.

Forget rethugs. They have no interest in supporting anyone but themselves.

2. After 1936 election, 17 Repubs left in office
Actual Democrats obliterate Republicans.

Appeasers lose.

4. He couldn't be bothered to help out
In the writing of the Health Care "Reform" so now the public option is not included in the 2,200 pages.

Maybe he should reconsider? I'd like to see him understand the importance of FDR, and see more FDR style substance emanating from the WH.

And a whole lot less of his buddy Tim Geithner.

5. He could explain to the President
why there is so much dissatisfaction from the left.

He could explain that we didn't see a big effort from the President to include the public option in HCR. He could explain to the President that not allowing the re-importation of pharmaceuticals has really damaged his image in the eyes of millions of liberal voters. He could explain to the President that organized labor must be supported under any and all circumstances, including the teacher's union. He could explain to the President that his actions and inactions during the gulf oil crisis gave many the impression that he was subservient to BP.

By pointing this out to the President, Grayson could help the President avoid making these kinds of glaring errors that damaged his popularity and pulled down his approval rating.

Show the President how you've won over a traditionally conservative district by being an unapologetic champion of the people - one who is not afraid to fight battles large and small. Show the President how independents, Democrats, and even Republicans respect - and are willing to support - a strong principled stand, clear & direct communication, and no tolerance for bullshit.

13. Be as bipartisan as the GOP was to us in 2000-08
Exactly that amount, no more.

Which is ZERO.

No more creeping rightward towards the criminal element.
