I am listening to Mike Malloy now & he just said he was the
skunk at the picnic the sat. gathering of all the liberal radio hosts in Seattle on Saturday. Does anyone know what he meant? I knew they were having a gathering of lots of hosts but I haven't heard any audios of what was said.

1. He was just being Mike
I attended the event and Mike was great.

I don't think he was being a skunk. The contention was whether we should abandon Obama for abandoning his base or be "the wind at his back" as Thom Hartmann was advocating for.

Mike pretty much said that Obama has been a disappointment and he is not a liberal and he has no faith that Obama will do the right thing and end the wars or advocate for us instead of only for the corporations.

Half the audience cheered Mike, and I myself, sadly felt the same aggravation Mike feels.

We are at a tipping point. We need to keep a Democrat in the presidency to prevent the right wing Supreme Court from robbing us of what little rights we have left.

I am at this point still an Obama supporter and hope that Thom is right in that we can push Obama to stay on our side, but I do have to agree with Mike it gets hard to support an administration that calls us whiners and to shut up and get in line.

I will not shut up.

The rest of the panel was great and I came away feeling that we can beat these "reich"-wingers if we stick with it and not let these bastards win. We need to beat them or the next republican president/congress will reverse what little gains we have made.

Thom Hartmann warned the war for our rights will be in the Supreme Court and we cant let a Republican appoint another "reich"-winger or it will be Game Over, Man!

Peace

2. Thom is right but it would feel good to do it like Mike says
The problem is that if Obama is president, that's the only game in town.

We either get what we want through him or we don't get anything.

Think of him as the road everything goes through.

So we're stuck with this. Let's hope it's not mediocre for his whole term.

And disassociating from him? He's the president. I still need him to run the gov't somewhat competently or at least appoint decent people to it, which at lower levels he does seem to be doing.

3. Trouble is...
If we become the wind at Obama's back when he is drifting ever rightward, as Thom suggests, he sure as hell ain't gonna stop moving that way. For me we must criticize Obama when he deserves it, but we also have to be the first on the bandwagon when he does something right. It sounds like training a puppy I know but the principle is similar.

4. Thanks. I would have thought there would be a yiutube of that of something,
but I haven't found any. I know we fel Obama has disappointed us in many areas, but I can't agree with Mike either. He gets very anti Obama on his show. I still support Obama and I believe a lot of the things he's being chastized for were out of his control. Congress, both the house & the senate, are bodies of consensus. Nobody every gets thing the way they want them. Sometimes I have to sweitch to another station because Mike just gets too crazy.

5. I dont know if cameras recorded the event.
But there is audio.

Lots of f-bombs were dropped and Mike, Stephanie and Randi were all hilarious and made liberal use of the f-word.

Much fun was had by all.

Ron Reagan, Jr and Thom Hartmann were the best and most erudite.

Here is a link to KPTK. They are podcasting it, I believe.
