"There is no question that there is a concerted effort to make this a political issue by some, and I join those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque being funded," she told KCBS. "How is this being ginned up?"
Pelosi's comments on Tuesday came a day after Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid expressed a desire for the project to built "some place else." Pelosi said she thought the decision should be a local one.
