'You're a (expletive) for Tasing an injured person'
Gee,I want a taser too.

About 3 a.m. Aug. 14, the deputy was assisting EMS at a traffic crash on the 6000 block of Old River Road that involved a 4-wheeler, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. The patient became combative with EMS.

“I had to deploy my Taser to gain compliance,” the report said. The 19-year-old aggressively moved toward the deputy and yelled, “You’re a (expletive) for Tasing an injured person.”

2. a Taser is only supposed to be used as an alternative to shooting someone.
So the officer is saying it was either the Taser or shoot to kill?

4. The man threatened to beat up the officer, and then lunged at him.
I suppose letting the guy beat him up was one of the options.

6. Then why was the report written using "compliance" rather than
self defense? I know you don't know the answer it's more of a rhetorical question. I think tasers are a wonderful toll of "less-lethal" but they are far from "non-lethal" as many people (officers included) consider them. With the number of people dieing from being tasered departments that allow the use of tasers for "compliance" are reconsidering their policy.
