“Don’t try to save money on clothes or groceries, because whatever you save, is just that much more
for somebody else to throw out.”

Someone told my mother that decades ago. My father was an alcoholic, and as most of you probably know, an alcoholic/addict can go through money quicker than a termite goes through sawdust.

Our government, maybe all governments, are the same. The more money they get, the more they spend. And, of course, they spend it whether they have it or not.

I believe if the US government reduces Social Security and/or Medicare, or raises the age requirements, they will just take that money and piss it away. Then the media noise machine will start up again on what else that helps anyone other than the ultrarich can be cut.

1. the thing they hate most about Social Security and Medicare is that they can't touch it
the programs are successful and popular and it's really hard to go after them. They can't get their hands on that money. Single payer health care is their ultimate nightmare.

2. I do that. I throw money out anywhere.
Any small amount of cash, dole from UI or work even, does not correct my situation, nor can correct my situation, so I tried and throw it in directions where it might help someone. mostly high service industries.

Although I agree with UI extensions and food stamps and stuff like that, in my particular situation, those things do not help me, so I throw money out to whoever is around.
