The DNC has so dirtied our fight against people like Ben Nelson, Baucus, Lincoln, Landrieu
So the DNC showered money to buff up the political image of Ben 'A Public Plan Would Hurt The Private Insurance Plans' Nelson after he voted for the health insurance reform bill? And who is not up for re-election until 2012?

Is there any wonder why people are refusing to send money to the DNC?

Ben Nelson

To keep people like this in power?

So he can throw in an incendiary anti-reproductive choice amendment to derail those fighting for universal health care for all Americans?

So he and pal Blanche Lincoln can turn around and vote on August 6, 2010 to permanently extend Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy?

This DNC has so dirtied our fight against these politicians who prostitute themselves for money and power.

From the Hotline piece:

August 18, 2010

.....

The ad spending wasn't the only special attention Nelson received in order to win his vote on health care legislation. Senate Maj. Leader Harry Reid helped carve out a deal that would have given NE federal funding for an expansion of Medicaid, a deal the GOP derisively coined the "Cornhusker Kickback."

That deal, along with others geared toward winning over Sen. Mary Landrieu's (D-LA) vote, was eventually spiked after a public uproar over the special treatment.

But, wait, all is not lost!

Max Baucus's payoff got through unnoticed at the time:

Max Baucus landed expanded Medicare for his Libby, Montana residents. (Halfway down the post)

But, Max 'We Need More Police' Baucus stood in the way for the rest of us to have it.

Now, another year has passed.

Taibbi was correct.

This is the fight of our lifetime.

1. This was about a million dollars thrown away...a senator who didn't need the money...
...and who wasn't up for re-election until 2012...yeah, like they're gonna ever get any more of my money.

3. While some people don't like to hear it, this is partly why so many of us have cut off the DNC .....
.... in favor of targeted giving to certain candidates.

That can sometimes come back to bite us in the ass, such as my donations to Eric Massa over the last two cycles, but at least we know where our money goes.

I would not give one fucking dime to people like Nelson or Baucus. I used to think otherwise, but now that I find that I have been openly shunned by the party, I'll go it alone.
