Donating through your phone company.
Does anyone here know that works? How much the company charges? I've tried googling it to no avail.

I always have extra money on my phone and I'd give it to DU if I could. I did it with Haiti.

Should Skinner look into it?

4. you can if it is none profit
Members have a vote in who they want the donations to go to. If you go to the website it answers your questions and there is a number you can call where they will answer any other question you might have.

5. Those in marketing know this as the "impulse buy" strategy.
When you see a show of the disasters in New Orleans, Haiti, Pakistan, wherever, you want to help, so you are willing to dial a number, not have to fetch out your credit card number, etc, just dial a phone number and you give $10 or $100.

Impulse purchase strategy. Just buy it now, you want it now. Just put that candy bar on the check out line in the grocery store, or give money to some cause by dialing a number on your phone, same strategy. Easy, quick, fast, and painless.

SO how do we market the DU, or the Democratic Candidate in the same easy-to-pay way?

Simple, we make the issues more emotional, more immediate, less intellectual and less philosophical.

We KNOW we don't need that candy bar at the checkout line, but we buy it anyway, because it's there and easy and immediate.

We KNOW we need to each pay $10 a year to DU or some other worthy cause, but it's such a hassle to go find the pocketbook and the credit card.

Dialing phone numbers to give money to worthy causes is just coming into our lives. Haiti relief was the first I ever did. Now there is Pakistan, or some other emotional one.

We need this same level of emotional and immediate "impulse buy" for our next two years. Can you imaging a house with Speaker Boehner and Majority Leader McConnell. That's enough for me to want to dial a couple numbers. Is it for you?

7. I like it, but I never impulse buy.
I ponder over candy bars, unless they're BOGO.
