Thanks so much for indulging me.

This is a link to a song I wrote. It is the opening track to my upcoming record. I posted it on DU last Month, but somehow it seems fitting today.

This man built an empire & started a powerful political movement all in the name of Christianity. With all due respect to the departed, please bear in mind that because of this man, there are 1000s more like him.

On the inside front cover of a 1983 issue of Hustler, was what appeared to be an advertisement for Campari Liqueur with the headline: "Jerry Falwell Talks About His First Time" followed by an interview, excerpted below...


FALWELL: My first time was in an outhouse outside Lynchburg, Virginia.
INTERVIEWER: I see. You must tell me about it.
FALWELL: I never really expected to make it with Mom, but then after she showed all the other guys in town such a good time, I figured, "What the hell!"
INTERVIEWER: Go on.
FALWELL: Well, we were drunk off our God-fearing asses on Campari, ginger ale and soda -- that's called a Fire and Brimstone -- at the time....
INTERVIEWER: Did you ever try it again?
FALWELL: Sure...lots of times. But not in the outhouse....
INTERVIEWER: We meant the Campari.
FALWELL: Oh, yeah. I always get sloshed before I go out to the pulpit....

Karla Faye Tucker, born-again Christian, pleading for clemency. Then-Gov. Bush refused, even mocking her plea on TV. The night of her execution, the right Reverend Jerry Falwell also went on national TV and said in no uncertain terms that the state of Texas and Gov. Bush were right to kill Karla, she deserved to die (some Christian fellowship and mercy you showed there, Jerry). Falwell was a fat sack of shit, and the world is better off without him.
