SC Republic debate transcript -- FSSO (For Strong Stomachs Only)
May 15, 2007 Transcript
Republican Presidential Debate in South Carolina
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/15/us/politics/16repubs-text.html?_r=1&pagewanted=print&oref=slogin

The following is a transcript of the Republican presidential primary debate at the University of South Carolina on May 15, 2007, as recorded by the Federal News Service
-----------------

considering how many times the republic candidates invoked reagan's name during the first debate, I was curious to see how many times he was invoked again as opposed to mentioning bush's name

I did a quick word search on name drops:

Reagan: by moderator/questions: 2
by candidate: 5

bush: by moderator-questioniers: 8
by candidates: 1 (ron paul)

REP. PAUL: Well, I think the party has lost its way, because the conservative wing of the Republican Party always advocated a noninterventionist foreign policy.

Senator Robert Taft didn't even want to be in NATO. George Bush won the election in the year 2000 campaigning on a humble foreign policy -- no nation-building, no policing of the world.
