got your  ready, and it's only early wednesday morning....
McNulty hands in his resignation this past Monday, Gonzales accepts the resignation and then throws McNulty under a bus by blaming McNulty for the AG firings
Meanwhile Comey spills the beans about Gonzales/Card pressuring Ashcroft in a hospital bed over spying....
Wonder why I feel that this is like a end of the season cliff-hanger and I have to wait until the autumn for the season opener episode? :giggle: What will today's news bring? Another shocker :gasp: or spin from snowjob as he tries to downplay it all....
my questions:
-- Will McNulty stay under the bus or will he crawl out and tell his side of the story...?
-- Snowjob pooh-poohed Aschcroft's illness as apendicitis, and brushes off Comey's testimony as 'splashy'
(Snowjobs presser:
http://www.allamericanpatriots.com/48723361_white_house_white_house_press_briefing_tony_snow_may_15_2007MR. SNOW: Trying to take advantage of a sick man -- because he had an appendectomy, his brain didn't work?
--snip--
MR. SNOW: That's my way of counting to 10. (Laughter.)
The fact is, you've got somebody who has splashy testimony on Capitol Hill. Good for him. We're not talking about internal deliberations.)
I thought Ashcroft has a serious pancreas infection and not an appendectomy? Either Snowjob got his facts wrong, or it's a deliberate mis-speak to pooh-pooh the incident and undercut Comey's testimony as being an over-reaction.
From the news reports other than Card and Gonzales, the only other people present were Comey, Ashcroft and Ashcroft's wife. Will Ashcroft or his wife back up Comey's version? Will Comey further elaborate, were there other incidents of WH pressure regarding spying as well as other issues? What about the AG firings - discussions/pressure to fire certain AG's prior to Gonzales being annointed AG?
Was the real reason for Ashcroft's resignation voluntary, or was it involuntary because he refused to play ball with Card and Gonzales?
