Do you pay attention to nutritional info when ordering fast food?
If info on fat, calories, cholesterol, sodium, etc. was more visible, would it change your decision on what you order?

1. No, I don't
I know its a gazillion calories of stuff that's bad for me.
I usually feel horrible afterward; my skin crawls and I vow not to succumb to the convenience any more.
I only do fast food one or two times a year.

2. After seeing the info for the Bacon Double Cheeseburger at BK, I didn't change my order...
I vowed to never set foot in the place again (and I haven't), but I still ordered that one :)

5. Yes
That's why I stopped eating at them. The day after I ordered my last dollar double cheese burger I bought 100 shares of McDonalds. I'm now healthy, wealthy and wise.

...and at every other restaurant too.

If I have to eat at a fast food joint I have trouble getting a low carb option.

8. Yes. But mostly out of curiosity.
If I really cared to get something healthy, I wouldn't be there in the first place. A few extra calories and fat for what I call emergency food won't kill me.

10. Yes I do
It probably wouldn't change what I order much if at all because I already try to take such factors into account when ordering. The hard data would have to contain some surprises for it to change things much. On the other hand when I order fast food I know it aint gonna be healthy no matter what so I am willing to accept rather more fat and sodium than I otherwise would at home.

14. I was surprised at Popeye's Chicken nutritional data
One Popeye's biscuit contains more calories than a piece of fried chicken. I can't remember how many more calories, but it was definitely notewothy. This was about 15 or 20 years ago, when I lived a block away from Popeye's, was really young, and still hadn't fine tuned my eating habits.

In general, I don't eat any fast food anymore. It's how I stay slim and avoid gastrointestinal upset.

19. It depends on the chicken part, the Biscuit is 240 calories...
It depends of the chicken part though.

A Wing is 150, Leg is 110, Thigh 280, and Breast 350 (all with skin).

11. I rarely eat fast food, so no.
If I want to enjoy that jr. bacon cheeseburger, 5-piece chicken tenders, small fries and medium chocolate Frosty, I'm gonna do it, but generally not more than once per month. Calories and fat be damned!

12. Of course not!
It's fast food. It's crap. We know it's crap. That's the whole point. Greasy, fatty, sodium-laced, cholesterol-filled crap tastes GOOD ... and sometimes you just have to have it. Not often. But once in a while.

You eat it. You enjoy it. You feel guilty. You get heartburn. You don't touch the stuff for a while. Then one day, you eat it again ... and the cycle continues. :-)

15. Absolutely
I tend to only go to Subway and order from the 7 fat gram menu thingy. But even if I go somewhere else, I check and see if they have a Lite menu or do what I can to reduce fats and add veggies.

16. Yes...
which is why the industry opposes it. Some portion of people will reconsider ordering that 'something extra' if they realize it is another 600 calories.

20. no, its pointless
to me because we know its bad for us and full of calories already. If that is what I am concerned about, then wouldn't be at the fast food place in first place. Still it doesn't bother me to see amounts listed, maybe it does help some people make better selections, even if I find it irrelevant.

25. Did you know it was bad for you 20 years ago (or did your parents
if you weren't at the age of discretion 20 years ago) before nutritional information was required to be printed?

22. Yes, this morning we went to Denny's for breakfast
we both FIRST reach to the nutritional info before the actual menu. Hell the waitress pointed out that this was NOT the menu.

My hubby was going to order something that looked tasty, but at 1700 calories and change he changed his mind. Me, I confirmed the calories on my usual order... 480 in a breakfast is acceptable.

36. Yep, it's gives me that kind of greasy feeling in my stomach. When young I used
to think maybe a McChicken sandwich, for example, was OK and then later I learned it was pumped full of grease to give it more flavoring. I thought it was so gross when I started learning about fast food.

27. Impossible scenario.
When ordering fast food (at 95% of places) one cannot begin to suggest that they pay attention to nutrition. That is, unless they just don't care about said info.

28. The answer is a definite YES
I don't like a lot of sodium in my food, yet the amount of it in some places is simply atrocious. If I had access to a nutritional guide from a restaurant, it would definitely make a difference.

It happened recently in fact, that I checked out a franchise's nutritional content, and I was simply appalled. There were dishes in the list which had over 3500 mg of salt in them!!! And I think only the bread and salad were without a high content of sodium.

I concluded that it would be unlikely that for us to go there again anytime soon.

29. Sometimes - it depends on why I'm there
If I have a craving for a particular item then I'll have it (and try to balance the excess later), but if I'm at a fast food place because it's the only available option then I try to choose a healthier option...

30. On those occasions when we go have something from a fast food place
we know we are getting junk food.

I keep a daily food journal, and know how many calories I eat every day. A trip to one of the chains of junk food is a rare treat, and I enjoy every artery clogging bite.

33. Here's the McDonald's ingredients list. I find it very educational.
I like studying it on the back of their paper place mats when I have breakfast there once in a while. It helped my cut my calorie intake in half.
