George W Bush and the Republican party INVITED the 9-11 attacks on America.

People will not talk about the foreign policy that the Bush administration conducted with the Taliban government of Afghanistan from January 2001 until Sept 11, 2001. in July 2001, George W Bush threatened to invade Afghanistan if the Taliban would not allow US oil companies to build pipelines across Afghanistan. 9-11 basically happened because of oil.

The press and the Republican party remain in denial.

When you threaten to invade a country the government of the country you threaten to invade will do something to stop that invasion and that's why the 9-11 attacks happened.

1. The terrorists also want us out of Israel
An argument can be made that our military presence in the middle east at least contributed to 9/11.

7. Bin Laden cared more about us getting out of...
Saudi Arabia. Israel was a popular extra but not his primary concern.

8. Yes that is true
I just read an interview not long ago with a guy in Saudi Arabia who said Israel was the icing on the cake. He made it pretty clear that ALL middle eastern nations are opposed to US military involvement in their part of the world.

2. They invited them then they opened the door
and let them in via lax visa policy, shutting down investigations into terror funding, ignoring warnings, standing down defenses etc. etc.

5. There is some truth to what you're posting, but you really should include links.
For example, I've never heard anyone say that Bush PERSONALLY proffered any threats against the Taliban, but certain US envoys were rumored to have done such in the book "Forbidden Truth" by Brisard and Dasquié.

The fact that Colin Powell gave the Taliban around $42 million ostensibly as a reward/incentive for not planting/discouraging planting of opium poppies.

Funny that it was so important to us then, but now, the poppies are in full bloom again, and Washington no longer seems to care much.

Anyway, please include supporting evidence, because your claims will undoubtedly be dissected and disputed by some.

9-11 was in the planning stages long before July 2001...
...and was an unconscionable response to a long-standing pattern of real and perceived slights of American foreign policy toward the Muslim world.

Also: not a Taliban operation.

A deal was finally struck April 11. The U.S. ambassador to China said in a letter that the U.S. was "very sorry" the Chinese pilot died and apologized for landing on Chinese soil without permission.

9. The threat to invade Afghanistan served as the tipping point to Al Qaeda to strike us first.
The Bush threat to invade Afghanistan relayed by diplomats in Germany in July 2001 to Pakistanis to relay the message to the Taliban served as the tipping point to get the Taliban to get Al Qaeda, their guests to go forth with their operation to attack us on 9-11-2001.

I doubt that 9-11 would have happened if Bush had not threatened to invade Afghanistan over a mere refusal to deal for oil pipeline construction through Afghanistan. Once again the Bush administration threatened to invade a country that did not plan to attack us.

The 9-11 attacks only occurred after Bush had made the treat of invasion.
