Iran is going to take away our freedoms!!!!

I love Facebook...

an acquaintance of mine was commenting on a discussion about reducing military spending in the middle east. She said "well, if we reduce spending, how can we protect our freedoms with the threat of a 3rd world nuclear attack present?"

She hasn't explained how reducing military bases will stop anti-terrorist activities by the CIA, NSA, etc. Nor how Iran having a nuke has any implications towards our own freedoms (outside of what the government does, of course).

I think she has this mental picture of Iran (which I would actually not call third world, but that's who she was talking about) as the Soviet Union, with nuclear submarines and tank divisions poised on the borders.

3. Ignorance combined with the stupidity of not even caring to learn geography and cultures is causing

a hate collapse of this country. How arrogant we are. How utterly pitiful that they can't honor the cultures and religions of other people on this planet.

4. Sad isn't it. I would say 3 out of 5 rapid war supporters I've spoken

with can't point to Iraq or Afghanistan on a map.
