What a sorry state of affairs

In the past few weeks, there have been some very bad attacks on individual members of Baltimore's Hispanic community. Apart from the fear and actual injuries, two people are now dead.

One of the killers has been arrested and has confessed to one of the deaths and to assaults on others. He did, he said, because he hates Hispanics.

Police had tried to canvass the Hispanic community, with little success. A spokesperson for the community said the inclination of all community members, legal or not, is to avoid police, avoid the hassle of getting involved, and just try to stay under the radar.

I think it is shameful that our country, our celebrated "Melting Pot" nation, has so frighte4ned a community that they fear the police and the authorities more than they fear a stalker bent on killing them.

the only thing that makes us different from the wild west is that we are better armed now. May as well get used the violence, it can only get worse, nothing is going to stop the gun toting haters.

2. In my area, 3,000 miles from Baltimore...

...minority families are refusing to call the police for any matter because of the danger of police abuse to innocents.

3. That situation exists here, too. This is a new layer on top of that.

4. This is also going to get worse as anyone who is illegal

will NOT want to talk to the police because of the threat of being deported.
In Prince William County, they claim the new anti-immigration laws have made crime drop--No what it has done is make the REPORTING of crimes drop as smart criminals will go after Hispanics knowing they won't bring attention to themselves. :(
