Poll question: State of the Economic State
Thought it might be interesting to find out how close to home the economic situation hits around here

Choose the one that fits you best. Apologies in advance for any category I left out that I should have included.

2. is this considered temporary or permanent?
it's hard to get at the many variations on people's job situations now.

I didn't even get into the issue of bennies.

4. No idea...
but almost every week find my schedule dropping from 5 days to 4, which means no over time. And that makes a big difference, where I had been OK now I find that I'm slowly losing ground. Nothing desperate yet, but have to watch every dollar.

3. I'm an underemployed and have gone back to school.
The job gets more degrading, as our corporate overlords demand more productivity with no possibility for increased pay or other tangible benefits. I have to put food on credit (which is nearly full). I took out loans and some grants to go back to school studying computer science at a good university, so I at least have good hope for future employment if I survive the next few years :P Mom and dad have lost all their savings though.

8. Other.
I am currently employed in a full-time or salaried position and am struggling to earn enough to meet basic expenses.

I've taken 4 major paycuts in the last 17 months, and am facing a huge increase in health insurance premiums.
