Is this animal cruelty?
I saw this guy yesterday. The ears and tail of the dog are painted pink. You can see one of the ears in this picture. Is painting the ears and tail of a dog pink animal cruelty? This guy carried the dog around on his shoulder the two times I saw him.

1. Unless the paint is toxic
it's just more silly than cruel. The dog probably loves the attention.

2. Hell, i want to know what is wrong with that dog that it allows..
itself to be lugged around like a sack of flour... That is not normal. Maybe the dog is paralyzed?

3. I don't think so, and I've a rescue volunteer foster mom. It's
usually a vgitable dye & no worse than giving the dog a bath which we all do. As far as carrying the dog o his shoulder, the dog looks pretty content to me, so I think it's fine.

10. I didn't say there was a problem with carrying the dog that way...
just that it is not natural for a dog to allow itself to be carried that way--at least not for long periods....

12. Would you like your ears painted a different color?
Involuntarily?

13. No. I wouldn't want a collar put around my neck and punished every time I got off all fours,
either. Involuntarily. No judging here, though.

7. I would focus on the ones locked in basements or chained in backyards
without water.

14. +1000 and most groomer supply catalogues offer canine hair dyes.
While not so egregious as poor creatures chained in basements, I'd also prioritize legislation banning the removal of body parts from animals for cosmetic purposes. FDA hair dyes wash out or grow out and are pretty harmless. I've been a redhead from a bottle for the past 3 decades.

8. I don't see any cruelty here. It's not something I would do, but I don't see any harm.

9. A bit tacky, perhaps.
Not cruel, though.

11. Dogs should never have to go through the embarrassment of
hanging out with fat guys.

15. One might assume that a fat guy is
more likely to have a well fed dog!
