Rudy: "It's real simple what happened: These people came here and killed us because of our freedom"

http://www.usnews.com/usnews/politics/bulletin/bulletin_070516.htm

<snip>

In a post-debate interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity, Giuliani said his attack on Rep. Paul "was sincere and it came from the heart. ... It reminded me of the Saudi prince who gave me the $10 million. He did the same thing. 'This is America's fault, the way America has outraged the world.' It's real simple what happened: These people came here and killed us because of our freedom of religion, because of our freedom for women, because they hate us. All we have to do is look at last week and these people in Fort Dix who are still here planning to kill us, three of them illegal immigrants. ... The reality is, if you are confused about this, I think you put our country in much greater jeopardy. The reality is, these people are planning to kill us...and this is hard for people to recognize, I usually hear this on the Democratic side. ... I never expected to hear it in a Republican debate."

17. Because of our military bases in Saudi Arabia, because of our support of Israel,
because of our meddling in the Middle East.

These might be the real reasons.

Of course, they're not so simple.

24. We need to support Paul's realistic view. We need to state loud and
clear that our actions around the world have consequences. Sooner or later a bully gets smacked back. We got smacked back on 9-11.

3. And he didn't finish with "oh, and it happened on my watch"?
Funny, for a guy who treats those poor victims and their families like he's their pimp, how that always seems to skip his mind.

5. A simple cause, a simple solution
And under a President Giuliani . . .

Excuse me, I just threw up in my mouth a little.

And under a Giuliani administration, you can bet that we wouldn't have any more of that freedom for terrorists to hate us. Vote for Rudy!

8. The argument is ridiculous.
If Iraq or Afghanistan was meddling in our country, the US would be filled with "insurgents"
Remember the Monroe Doctrine? No outsiders in our hemisphere. I'm sure the arab world feels the same way.
Whenever I hear theses idiots try to pretend that's it's not about oil I have to wonder how many people these days are still buying it.

11. Ah, there's an even worse statement he's made
(I confess, I tuned in to Faux for a short time late last night)

In the Spin Room with Insanity, Guilliani said: "The President takes and oath to protect and defend American lives." Not a peep from Insanity or his side kick on that one.

It all makes sense now! The world really is a simple place and all I need to do is let RW brainiacs like Rudy and Dubya think for me!

Screw you guys, I'm going to FReeperland!

15. Keep it simple for the stupid
As I just read on Eschaton quoting Digby referring to Rudy: These people don't care if he's wearing a teddy under his suit and sleeping with the family schnauzer as long as he promises to spill as much blood as possible.

16. Why is it so hard for these cretins to understand? Simple attitudes like this are why we are in the
situation we are in and scares the hell out of me if this dolt darkens the White House. Hey Rudy, if they hate freedoms so much, how come they aren't attacking other freedom loving countries like they do us?

UBL wrote it out very plainly and simply what his grievances are with the western world and unlike Dubya, he's not waivered from what he wants and how he's going to go about doing it.

18. That is right Rudy
It is real simple. Keep saying that and maybe the rest of us will quit thinking because it is just too hard to go against the mass hypnotic state our country is in. Right. It is just so simple, we are the good guys in the white hats always (always!) and there is never a reason beyond the most simple and easy to repeat. Obey.

That's because we are so much better than they are!

And the oil in their countries has nothing to do with it, right?

that statement is so moronic I kept waiting to find out at the bottom that it came from The Onion. "It's real simple... they hate us". Brilliant.

22. I don't actually think Rudy believes this. He is trying to appeal to the nut wing of the party
Once he gets the nomination (if he gets it) he will likely do a 180 and be all for getting out of Iraq.
