Bolton: Attack Iran before it gets bomb

Iran should be attacked - as a last resort - before it develops nuclear weapons, former US ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton was quoted as saying on Wednesday.

Bolton, who stepped down from his post in December 2006, told the Daily Telegraph that the European Union has to "get more serious" about Iran following its failure to halt Iran's uranium enrichment program with diplomatic sanctions.

# 'Bush may strike Iran near end of term'

"It's been conclusively proven Iran is not going to be talked out of its nuclear program. So to stop them from doing it, we have to massively increase the pressure.

"If we can't get enough other countries to come along with us to do that, then we've got to go with regime change by bolstering opposition groups... that's the circumstance most likely for an Iranian government to decide that it's safer not to pursue nuclear weapons than to continue to do so. And if all else fails, if the choice is between a nuclear-capable Iran and the use of force, then I think we need to look at the use of force," Bolton told the Telegraph.

8. Everyone go out and reminder their neighbors . . .
Especially those who either don't read news online and/or only receive news via the MSM (if at all).

Russia (formerly the Soviet Union) has nukes, but has never used them.
The United Kingdom has nukes, but as never used them.
France has nukes, but has never used them.
China has nukes, but has never used them.
India has nukes, but has never used them.
Pakistan has nukes, but has never used them.
(Israel might have nukes, but has never used them).

The United States has nukes, but . . . oh . . . never mind.

9. Eve of destruction by complete morons
So what do these idiots think the rest of the world will do after we bomb Iran? China, Russia, India, Pakistan, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Israel etc. - sit pretty & wear face masks until the sand stops frying?

Of course this will eliminate the need for tougher air quality standards all over the world and global warming will be acknowledged even by the fundies - particularly the Lake of Fire.

What if we had American leaders and statesmen who believed that any effort to avoid war was the ideal we should be living up to, instead of the crazy fuckers who think diplomacy equals appeasement & Hitler/Osama is behind every sand dune?

14. Bolton told his aipac friends he wanted Iran to kick out weapons inspectors so there
would be a reason for a counter-reaction on the part of the US.

He wants war, not real solutions.

Here is what Bolton said:
Former Ambassador Bolton: Let me turn now to the question of Iran and what I think the situation is there. The Security Council just passed a resolution. The resolution that the Security Council passed at the end of last month imposing certain limited sanctions on Iran, obviously the product of a long effort based on Iran’s refusal to comply with the earlier Security Council resolution that gave them until August 31st to cease their uranium enrichment activities. I’d have to say because I’m a private citizen and therefore a free man again, and these are my personal views, now, that this sanctions resolution is very disappointing. It is not as tough as I would have liked to have seen it. In many respects the Russians did an outstanding job from their point of view in protecting Iran, in narrowing the scope of the sanctions, in limiting the effectiveness, I think, of many of the things that we wanted to try and do to prevent the Iranians from continuing to make progress on their nuclear and ballistic missile programs.

I think the Iranian reaction to the sanctions resolution has been very telling in that respect, although they’ve passed a resolution in parliament to re-evaluate their relation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, they have not rejected the sanctions resolution, they have not done anything more dramatic, such as withdrawing from the nonproliferation treaty, or throwing out inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency, which I actually hoped they would do – that that kind of reaction would produce a counter-reaction that actually would be more beneficial to us.

19. Is this the same John Bolton
who bravely supported the war in Viet Nam but confessed he "had no desire to die in a rice paddy in Southeast Asia"?
I had friends like him back in my wild years. One in particular that was always saying "let's you and him fight".
There are chickenhawks and chickenshits, he be both.

Fallon is also quoted as saying, "several of us

I'm sure Bolton is one of the crazies Fallon is
referring to.

us to attack Iran "as a last resort". Last? We haven't even negotiated ONCE. They are years away from having nucelar weapons. That ruling came out of the Dept he worked for.

Evidently, PNACers are still in charge - there mouths pimping for dead bodies - their mouths running ahead of their brains. Because there is still a lot of money to be made through death.
