They moved the deployment to Iraq of the 3rd ACR to the middle of the night to avoid protesters. Eventually they tried to sneak out at 4:15 am. But the protesters waited all night, even stopping a bus briefly. From a number of accounts, some GIs on the bus raised their fists in solidarity and cheered.
