A motherboard always dies at just the wrong time doesn't it?
Good luck with the config.

5. Suddenly my tiny-but-automatic monthly donation mechanism |
|
seems like not such a lazy practice.
The idea of being smote does not appeal to me at all.
smitten. smat. whatever. Do Not Want.
Glad you are again among the star-smit.

lightning bolt was the start of four days of downpours that show no sign of abating. It is raining like mad at the moment. Last night I was trying to connect the new modem and was on my hands and knees behind the computer desk when the power went out. The weather was so bad the phone lines were all screwed up and I never did get the phone and modem working at the same time for more than a few seconds. After two hours of trying I gave up. Tonight it worked on the first try. Go figure.
I am wondering whether I will need to put all the 41,660 tracks back into iTunes from my back ups or whether the guy I have retrieving stuff from the hard drive will be able to get the whole shebang back.
Tomorrow is you know who's birthday. I will have to post something and see if people are still in attack mode.
Not having internet access is terrible. It is my map, my phonebook, my cookbook, my memory substitute, my checking account, etc., etc.
I had this huge feeling of relief when I got my home page back.
One weather related thing I did avoid. When I arrived at work today there was a large portion of an oak tree in the spot where I usually park my new car.
I met the woman who I usually speak to at technical support at my ISP when I picked up the modem. Twenty-something and really stacked....
