So, I just talked politics with housemate's father. He's a hedge fund manager and batshit insane.

We are eating dinner in each others' presence while his son and a few of his friends are gushing over the new 2011 Dodge Charger SRT he bought for my housemate a few days ago.

Out of the blue, he mentions the Glenn Beck rally and how Obama's a secret Muslim who inherited his faith. I sincerely tell him to enjoy the former and then called him out on the latter. He also badmouthed his own brother who works as a Democratic advisor.

1. I feel for ya. I've had a very long conversation on Facebook with an
old friend over her hatred of Obama. She believes everything she reads about him. She puts the stupidest things up on her page and somehow I just can't let them go unchallenged. She never really hears my arguments she just blows out the talking points. It's been going on all summer and I can't do it anymore. She is a lost cause just like the fellow you were talking to.

2. Better to block the deluded fools
than to run up your blood pressure reading their posts. I've had to do that with a few "friends" on FB, and it's helped my mood considerably.

5. Ha! Great minds and all
How about a Pepsi Throwback instead of a coke? It's my new favorite soda.

10. Pepse Throwback is the only soda i've had this decade
admittedly we're not far into this decade. i bought them when my dad came to visit - he drinks pepsi every day, and i love it but i recognize that it contributes to the gut.

after he left, i think i drank 5 of them over a 2 month period - CANE SUGAR, BABY!

9. Maybe there are 2 or 3 responsible hedge fund managers out there who also support Obama.
I doubt it, but I wouldn't mind being the first.
