Ron Paul comes in 2nd in FOX News Poll
Edited on Wed May-16-07 11:43 AM by Quixote1818
I think a lot of Republicans see Paul as a way to give the Republican Party credibility again. They also know most Americans are in line with Paul. What this tells me is that following Bush might lead all these guys right off a cliff leaving Ron Paul the only viable option for Republicans.

1. Lots of republicans are against the war
That's a good thing.

Paul is of course a libertarian and has views on what the government should and should not do that are radically different from democrats, but I'm with him on IraqNam and to his credit he was railing against the invasion before it started

3. Wow. Are we to believe a lot of super-rich people voted for Romney?
Or are we to believe the poll was rigged? Hmm. What is most probable?

....next to the present occupiers of the White House Mitt Romney would be the next most dangerous US President?

9. Me too
I came to that conclusion last week. If you listen to Hannity and Rush, it sounds like the fix is already in. They have been pushing him on all there callers. He seems to be the chosen one.

I'm betting they are going to put Jeb on the ticket as vice-president.

25. That wouldn't be bad--he'll get the control freak vote,
and ONLY the control freak vote. I can't wait to see Romney start trying to sound like a "moderate" to make some kind of headway in the general election. That's going to be funny to watch.

35. Do you realize how easy it will be to beat that yankee mormon?
If we nominate a good Southern superstar like Gore than we're getting into Reaganesque landslide territory. Oh this is going to be fun!

Any of our Dems can beat any of their guys.

18. 12,000 people on My Space can't muster up 100,000 needed
to win a FOX news poll that you only get one vote in. Most online polls only let you have one vote. I don't know what ABC is talking about by saying you can vote many times on the same poll??

21. CorpoPravda will never allow Paul to be the Puke nominee.
If he starts getting any traction, the character assassination will begin. "He was a Republican before he was a Libertarian before he was a Republican. Why, he's John Kerry's long-lost brother, dontcha know," for starters. Many of his "no" votes on constitutional original-intent grounds will be drug up, without any explanation of the reasons; he'll be against the troops and Lord-knows-who else, supporting Al Quada and God-knows-who else, and on and on. They will NEVER allow him to get a foothold.

16. Big ? is, how many vored in poll and were there dupe votes
and was the poll pushed over by people voting like we do occasionally...

Taking all things into account however, w/the "war president" in the tank, people pissed off about the war, the push for both Romeny and McCain to "win", and the incredibly early start of this cycle, almost anything is possible.

The primaries are so far off, it would not surprise me if all of these people were off the ballot simply because people are sick of them...:D

17. Ron Paul made 2 excellent points about blowback and torture
I about cheered when he mentioned the US installing the Shah in 1953 causing blowback. Rudy looked an idiot in the exchange.

It would be wonderful if it would start a discussion about what we did.

Hey, a girl can dream.

(Yes, I know Ron Paul is a nut case but he does seem to have more intelligent positions than the rest in the field.)

How many more debates? Will they call them off if Paul keeps winning? (or doing better than the powers that be say he should)

And how the hell can anyone like that empty suit Mitt?

Both Bushes were from Connecticut. I really want the Repubs to nominate a yankee from NYC or Massachusetts. I want this. We can beat these guys.

Tim Johnson works for me. Or Dean...

I miss Dean.

And the people of Connecticut (of which I am part) are working very hard to make the world forget that Bush was born there!

Not exactly a shining moment, what with the WW2 Nazi money-laundering by Bush's relatives and all.
