I am rooting for McCain tonight
Not because of the the seven years in a hole
Not because of his honorable service in the US Senate
Not because he once was not a tool of the machine
and Not because I feel sorry for him

only that

"Senator Hayworth" would be an embarassment to the country, the Senate, and even that state - and God knows they have suffered horrific embarassment of late.

Good Luck John.

1. Fuck that. McCain foisted an even greater embarrassment upon the Country
with his VP pick. I hope Hayworth wins...we would have a better chance against him in the GE.

23. Hope Hayworth wins - Forget that until we see how many Dermocrats voted today and especially
how many Hispanics vote today.

26. I'm expecting a low Dem turnout...
There's not much reason to vote. With the exception of Senator, AG, SoS and School Superintendent, the races are pretty much uncontested. And w/ Senator we've got a presumptive frontrunner in Glassman. And we couldn't even put forth a candidate for County Attorney in Maricopa, so it's between Arpaio's tool (can't remember his name) and Rick Romley. At least that's how it is in my purple district. The Republicans are tearing each other apart with Teabaggers, Arpaio supporters, Brewer supporters, Arpaio opponents, Quayles and such, but the Dems seem pretty much united, even if we don't have a CA candidate. Whether that will translate to a good turnout in November is another question.

28. McCain going to win big tonight only because Hayworth is an idiot.

I just voted for Glassman on the DEM side. He may actually be able to take McCain down!

10. I Live in Arizona and my feelings are
I want McCain to beat J.D. Hayworth because I don't trust the Democratic Party to support the candidate they have. I understand the focus for the Democratic Party here is only for Governor which worked really horribly last time so they decided to do it again. That means good luck Democratic Nominee and hope you can afford to match either Republican because we certainly won't help you much if any. That means Hayworth wins he will be Senator, if McCain wins he will be Senator and as much as I don't like McCain, Hayworth is much much worse.

17. Disagree. I think if Hayworth won the nomination, he'd lose the election.
The electorate voted against him in favor of a Dem once before and I think they'd do it again. Mccain, on the other hand, will almost certainly win if he's the nominee.

29. Hayworth barely lost against a popular local mayor while under a cloud of Abramoff...
He threatened recount the race was so close - The guy is a jackass and a crook, but never underestimate how reactionary Arizona can vote. Look at what's going on down here right now for evidence. Hayworth would lose Tucson and Flagstaff, the central Phoenix core and Tempe, but he'd probably win on the rez because of his gaming and BIA connections and he'd certainly win in the suburbs and rural areas.

31. Both of those clowns would be an embarrassment to the country, the Senate, and even that state
One is just slightly more of a clown than the other. But they are both still clowns and an embarrassment to the country, the Senate, and even that state.

Sad state of affairs isn't it?

Don
