Poll question: Fast Foods you love but are (or not) afraid to eat (Pic heavy)
We all love food, face it, if you don't, then you are R2D2 (IMHO). But some of us ONLY eat what is absolutely perfectly nutritrous for us, while the rest of us dive in and worry later.

Which one of these monumentally bad nationally famous fast food items do you love (or hate!) the most? (Yes, I probably missed YOUR favorite, sorry I thought about this first nanner nanner)

1. i've never had any of those. i can't believe anyone would eat that baconator thing.
Edited on Tue Aug-24-10 09:11 PM by Hannah Bell
it's like a full day's calories & more than a full day's fat for a man.

they must have some committee trying to think up the most disgusting, fattening sandwiches possible.

on the few occasions i have fast food it's usually a soft-serve ice cream & a regular cheeseburger hold the meat.

54. You could eat four 7-layer burritos with a bit of room to spare.
Each has 510 calories, so you'd be looking at 2,040. Honestly, that's not going to fill you very well for a whole day.

The bean burritos with the cheese included have 370 calories, so you could have six of those. I eliminate the cheese, which will strip about 70 calories and 8 grams of fat. Now you're up to seven for a day. That's a shitload of food, and as far as fast food goes, better than most.

Baconator Triple
A premium bun filled with three 1/4 lb. fresh, never frozen patties. Piled high with Applewood smoked bacon, mayo, ketchup, and sliced American cheese all made to order. It's enough to make your mouth water.

The Taco Bell 7 Layer Burrito is actually meatless (rice, beans, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, low fat sour cream, and guacamole). The image info for the one you posted is for a Taco John's menu item. At 510 calories, I doubt the 7 Layer would stack up to the others.

38. GAK- every one of those is revolting
Frankly, I think countries should adopt proposals like the Australian Greens have (although some of the Scandinavian countries go further):

Greens leader Bob Brown will today announce in Melbourne the party's plan to:

IMPOSE a 1.5 per cent levy on alcohol and junk food ads.

REQUIRE health information to be included in all commercials.

CREATE a fund to replace alcohol and junk-food sponsorship in community sports clubs.

Senator Brown said the tax would cover TV, radio, cinema and print ads.

He hoped it would encourage healthier food. "Australia cannot afford to allow the junk food and alcohol companies to make billions at the expense of the health and wellbeing of Australians," Senator Brown told the Herald Sun.

"The alcohol industry spends $109 million on advertising a year, while fast-food companies are among the top 50 advertisers, spending around $165 million on advertising a year." The Greens estimate the tax will raise $2.45 million a year from junk food and $1.6 million from alcohol.

The levy would be higher for drinks with a high alcohol content and foods with high levels of fat, sugar and salt. Richard Di Natale, a doctor and the Greens' Victorian Senate candidate, said the $4 million would be used to encourage healthy eating. He said it would also help tackle the growing obesity problem and the rising cost of alcohol-related diseases, road accidents and crime.

But having gone vegan I'd only eat their regular bean burritos now, minus the cheese, but with extra sauce and onions and added jalapenos. Now that's spicy and tasty and barely a buck apiece.

59. Fast food? Before I was vegan, I could get this KILLER fish 'n chips here in Tampa.
It was haddock. Honest to the gods haddock. Served up just like going to McD's.

Of course, I don't eat that anymore (matter of fact, I think the place got knocked down to put up a WalMart or something. But I did truly love going there. Reminded me of home.

I also loved the Arby's double thing. No cheese though, as that was disgusting. It did have to be just dredged in Horsey Sauce though.

Now, I don't do fast food really. I like to cook, and most of those places are just nasty dirty.

60. I'm hardly a anti-junk food purist, but...
...the only one of those things I've ever eaten is a Taco Bell 7 layer burrito, and it's been ages since I had one of those.

Even when I eat fast food, I usually stop a step or three down from the extreme menu items, and ask for no mayo, or for other fatty sauces and spreads to be held.

I used to, until very recently, like to get bacon on a burger. For the past six months or so, however, I've lost my taste for it. Adding bacon just seems like overkill to me lately.

My real weakness for fatty foods and junk calories are desserts anyway, particularly desserts involving ice cream, not these megameat monstrosities.

A Jr Arby is great once in a while..as is a yearly Whopper Jr (no cheese), but those pictured are gross & totally unappetizing..

62. Mmm, Taco Bell . . . *homer drool*
It's my one fast food allowance now, once every month or two.

It's a shame they no longer have their Border Lite menu. It was reduced fat and calories, but honestly it tasted just fine. I used to be able to grab up a regular taco or two once in awhile and not feel like I had to pile extra miles on the morning run to offset it.

I am blessed to have worked at a McDonald's throughout high school. To this day, I don't want anything to do with fast food burger anything, no matter what the chain.

Even In N' Out O.o

87. The double decker is also the devil's food
But it's something I'm sometimes willing to risk purgatory for. "We're just going to slather this in re-fried beans." Someone deserves a Nobel in physics for coming up with that.

Heck, I don't even like cheese on a burger but love a cheesesteak so you can work that out yourself.

Hook me up with some spicy fried chicken though!

67. I used to eat the double quarter pounder with cheese regularly
It is a decent tasting burger. Nowadays if I am at McDonalds (which is rarely) I get the normal quarter pounder instead of the double.

But my favorite hamburger by far is not listed, a Tillamook cheeseburger from Burgerville. Probably because Burgerville is only a regional chain and not nationwide, but they have really good fast food, and miles ahead of the other big burger and fast food chains in terms of quality.

Bacon does NOT belong. A turducken is a symphony of poultry flavours.

just look like freakish excesses, and if I'm going for gluttonous excess there are local places which are far superior to the chain options...

love me some fast food, i'd be happier on thanksgiving with a bag of whoppers and fries than the standard turkey, scalloped corn and cranberry sauce that mom always serves. i've even brought it up a few times to no avail.

79. I eat 4 or 5 of those Double Quarter-pounders a year, and I'm not quite dead yet
If I'm out traveling out on the highway and I get hunger, and particularly if I have to piss too (because all McDonald's have clean restrooms) I'll stop and eat a double quarter pounder. This happens four or five times a year. It hasn't killed me yet and I'm not overweight by any stretch of the imagination.

81. As far as calories go, the Double Down isn't all that bad.
Of course, Double-Downs are also appetizer-sized compared to the rest.

I'd have to say I used to like the Triple Whopper (no mayo or cheese, of course) up there before I turned 30 and could eat 12 plates of food in a sitting and not gain an ounce.

86. the picture provided for the 7 layer burrito
is incorrect.

The 7 layer burrito is actually vegetarian - http://www.tacobell.com/menuitem/7-Layer-Burrito

To lump that in with the other items you list is rather unfair imo.

91. I do not eat beef or pork for that matter....
I used to like a whopper once in awhile back in the day or Roast Beef, but never with cheese on it.

I would eat the double down, with out the cheese and bacon; just eat the chicken. We do not eat a lot of that crap anymore, we still have our moments of course.
