things I am adding to my ever growing boycott list
Edited on Tue Aug-24-10 09:26 PM by KILL THE WISE ONE
koch industries - funders of the TEA Party

Georgia-Pacific’s familiar consumer brands in North America include Quilted Northern®, Angel Soft®, Brawny®, Sparkle® , Soft 'n Gentle®, Mardi Gras®, Vanity Fair®, and the Dixie® brand of tabletop products

I was not going to by any carpet anytime soon so stainmaster will not miss me.

1. Quilted Northern has been a old favorite of ours
but we recently switched to Kirkland's TP from Costco - works as good as Quilted Northern.

3. That soft stuff plugs an ultra low flow desert toilet right up
no matter how few sheets you use.

I use either no name or Scott, scratch your butt, single ply, 1000 sheets to the roll. It does the job without stopping up the toilet.

I don't use any GP products, I'm delighted to say, and would stop if I did.

7. I have a low flow toilet as well
I just remodelled my bathroom last year, and a new toilet replaced a 1950 era toilet. We have two very old toilets in this house, that will be eventually replaced.

5. I wipe my tuckus with Green Forest tissue or Seventh Generation tissue.
Costs more but it's all paper, recycled paper, and doesn't go the Kochs (at least I hope it doesn't!!!!!)

6. I use rabbits to wipe mine.....
fully recyclable...let 'em go in the woods, it rains, they get washed off and they're good as new for next time.

9. That's all fine and dandy, but
what do you do when you have to go in the woods and all the rabbits are already used?

16. Impossible...
Rabbits multiply so quickly there's always a fresh supply...

but just in case of an emergency, I only use half the rabbit. Then if I do run out, I get a used one and wipe on the other half.

PS...squirrels work too, but you have to be quick because they'll bite.

8. Aldi's offers
great toilet paper and paper towels. Viva is a good paper towel. So there are definitely good alternatives.

That's the end of Sparkle for me. I used to use Viva so I'll start using them again.

13. We don't use paper towels.
I broke the habit when my boys were all still at home.. They went through them at an alarming rate, so I bought "bar-towels" at Costco.

I have to wash them, but it's still cheaper.

11. Kicking...
and agreeing

I see no reason to buy any of those brands. They have plenty of competition to choose from.

18. I wish I could join but I don't use any of their stuff... Can I say I was an early boycotter?
I'm super cheap when it comes to paper products, and use Trader Joes recycled stuff. Because it's cheap and I'm there anyway! And I use Mrs Meyers dish soap because it's cruelty free and smells good - I hate housework, so I have to bribe myself to do it.
