Don't you want to support the right-wing Koch Industries? Here are the brands to avoid

About Koch Industries (http://www.good.is/post/climate-science-is-getting-koch-blocked/): "From 1997 to 2008, the company, its two co-owners Charles and David Koch, and its employees have funneled more than $48.5 million to groups such as the Americans for Prosperity Foundation and the Heritage Foundation, and crazy senators like James Inhofe, that fight against climate change legislation and promote climate change skepticism in the media. The Koch machine easily outspent ExxonMobil in this arena."

Here is a list of their brands - "which includes Brawny and Lycra. Don't use Dixie cups for your drinking games":

23. Aldi's has a pretty good
toilet paper as well as paper towels. Viva are fabulous paper towels and I get them for 99 cents when they're on sale.

I won't give Koch one red cent.

I strongly agree. I'd let them know why too.

These sort of actions along with voting out Wall Street lackeys are win/win.

Why should I do anything to support these clowns when they actively work against my best interest? As matter of fact their agendas are malicious rather than indifferent.

Fuck them. I don't need their garbage. Find another mindless consumer.

17. Either these are extremely, extremely, profitable brands...
or this is not their whole product line, not by a long shot.

I can't imagine them having their kind of money and power only from this product line-up.

24. Message sent to Koch Brothers, under my business name.
Because the Koch Brothers have so many products, this won't be easy to do. But because their political/anti-environmental efforts are so over the top and so harmful to the country, it will be worth it.

I will no longer use any of their products. And as long as they continue on their quest to destroy the middle class and the environment, I will inform as many people as I can on which products not to use.

28. Done
Their brands are now on my boycott list and I sent them this email telling them why:

I'm writing this to inform you I will no longer be buying any products produced by Koch Infustries or any of its subsidiaries. As a long time consumer of Dixie, Brawny, Northern and Georgia Pacific products, I must say I can no longer in good conscience contribute to David and Charles ' empire.

I should not be surprised by anything like this anymore but somehow I still am when I see the depths of depravity that the wealth addicted robber barons in this country will go to in order to gather more and more into themselves no matter what the cost to society at large. I'm mean, they are already billionaires, WHAT MORE DO THEY WANT?!!

President Obama was elected by a healthy majority of average Americans in order to try and clean up the mess of the last 30 years of right wing lunacy. If the Koch brothers want to use their vast wealth to try and override the wishes of an entire nation I can only pull my support and cheer for their speedy demise. The world will be a much better place without cruel and heartless bastards like them around. Their contempt for everyone they consider "beneath" them is as sickening as it is Un-American

Sincerely,

LM
Tulsa, Ok

Edited on Wed Aug-25-10 08:55 PM by DireStrike
Pretty much every napkin and toilet paper dispenser I've ever seen is stocked with Georgia Pacific.

Yeah, this seems like another un-boycott-able mega company.

I guess a strongly worded letter to their corporate headquarters will do instead. Not that they will pay much attention to it.

Oh, wait -- it's a brand of napkins, not the annual "Show Us Your 310 Million Tits" ritual. Whew!

I have seen this before and made sure none of these products ever go into my shopping cart. Thanks for the reminder.

39. I rarely, if ever, use their products listed.
I’m relieved to discover that I already rarely, if ever, use their products—at least not the brands listed. The question is, what do those S.O.B.’s have their fingers in that didn’t get reported on the list…
