Rick Scott spent $50 million on primary bid
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2010/08/24/4962783-rick-scott-spent-50-million-on-primary-bid

Domenico Montanaro writes: Rick Scott has spent more than $50 million ($50.2 million) on his primary campaign for governor, according to campaign finance data on record with the Florida Division of Elections.

The former hospital executive, whose company paid the largest set of Medicare fines and penalties in history -- $1.7 billion -- also declared his net worth to be $219 million ($218,589,004 to be exact), according to his financial disclosure form.

But in Florida, there is also something called Electioneering and Communications Organizations (ECOs) akin nationally to Political Action Committees (PACs on a national level). Scott has publicly acknowledged an affiliation with the ECO Let's Get to Work. Scott has given $11.3 million to Let's Get to Work through F. Annette Scott Revocable Trust. F. Annette Scott is his wife.

That means Scott has spent almost a quarter of what he claims to be his total net worth on this primary.

1. We ALL know why he did it
Someone should make a note of this and, sometime down the road about a year of so after he's out of office, compare his future net worth to his current one... And for what reason there's a difference.

2. Rick Scott is not in office yet
Rick Scott is dirty, and his primary campaign only hit the high points. His past is filled with shady deals and actions that conflict with his present position. Scott is a liar and has motives other than serving the people of Florida.

Rich Scott stands to lose in November, and probably will.

3. The sane republicans I know
do not like Scott. They were not exactly in love with McCollum either, but I think many will go with Sink over Scott. I think she wins easy.

5. +1 Sink will take the Moderate Business Repugs and Indys
away from Scott.

Plus, Sink saved her cash until now.

Did anyone mention she is VERY smart? :)
