So do you think Meek could drop out?
Interesting observation at the electoral.com site today....

Also, as far as the governor race in FL. goes, I like Sink's chances....Wouldn't that be great to win the governor's mansion back in CA, FL, & possibly TX....NY is a given as Cuomo will trounce Lazio...

"Suppose that come October the polls show him with 10-15% of the vote, a not improbable scenario. It might well occur to Obama to give Crist a call and say something like: "If I get Meek to drop out and endorse you, will you publicly announce you will caucus with the Democrats?" Crist already knows that his supporters want this by a 2:1 margin so the prospect of suddenly becoming the de facto Democratic nominee in a state where Democrats outnumber Republicans might be of interest to him. Of course, such an announcement would cause him to lose the 20% of Republicans who still support him, but that number would be small compared to to what he would gain. To get Meek out of the race, Obama could offer him an important job in his administration. Or if Sink was way ahead of Scott at that time, Obama could ask Sink to offer him a job in her administration. Meek is a loyal Democrat and if it was clear to him that he had no chance at all of winning the Senate seat, he might agree. In any event, this is clearly a race to watch"...

1. A Democrat to bow out to favor a Republican? So Dems can vote for him?
Have we gone completely insane?

2. And if this scenario comes about, it will simply show
How morally void this party has become. Openly courting a Republican and forcing a good, honest Dem out of the race. It will be a disgraceful spectacle.

3. I agree Meek is definitely a good Democrat
But the prospect of Rubio winning is frightening....As much as i hate to say it, if Meek could not win, then the establishment needs to back Crist, because Rubio is f-ing awful....

4. No they don't
The establishment is backing Meek. He is the ONLY Democrat in this race. Crist is living in La-La Land thinking he can get the support of the President or even Bill Clinton. Crist is a Repuke through and through. He just thought he would run away when there was a tough fight. That's the Charlie Crist we all know and hate here in Florida.

5. I understand that Rubio is bad,
But I find all of this early handwringing and backing of Crist as the savior against Rubio to be rather hypocritical.

People need to stop the whining and moaning and get behind Meek. Do that and he will win. It's that simple, but some people are so bent on going with a "winner" that they're willing to sell out their principles and back Crist.

6. What many don't seem to realize is that Crist and Rubio
would do pretty much the same thing in the Senate that all Republicans do: Obstruct progress. Tweedle Dumb And Tweedle Dumber. It would make no difference. We have to support Meek. If we do not, we cannot call ourselves Democrats. That is all there is to it.

7. why is it that all of the posts promoting Meek do so only because he is a Dem

running against a former-Repub . . . . and typically done so with a wealth of hyperbole.

How about posting some comparison of positions on the issues. Perhaps that would actually lead some to have a reason to vote for him - other than party afffiliation.

9. Whoa, whoa, whoa, dude.
You're stating that promoting a candidate on the basis of just being a Democrat is now wrong? I'm sorry, but where were you during other elections here when people were doing the very same thing with other candidates? More hypocrisy on the boards.

Here, why don't you find out for yourself.

11. Backpedalling and bullshit,
Your post clearly implied that you found disliked people promoting Meek simply because he was a Democrat. In fact you demanded that somebody step up and put some issues out there.

Now you're trying to take those words back? You have an hour to edit that post, and the clock is ticking.

All I'm doing is pointing out the hypocrisy of your post.

Pointing out hypocrisy is now akin to being like Bush.

Yep, the post does stand as is, aren't you so proud.

So who are you going to vote for? Meek, Crist or Rubio?

15. no hypocricy - if you're not aware of their positions, that is fine.
You can't be fully versed in all state candidates - so it is understandable

True progressive, or true "pragmatist?" Somehow, from the content of your posts, I think it will be the latter.

21. like I said earlier - a discussion of their position on the issues might actually sway some voters
but some prefer a "bullying" approach using flammable language instead.

To each his own.

But instead you were dismissive.

However I am finding it comical the way you tapdance around the issue of who you're going to vote for. Don't want your hypocrisy to be exposed for all to see, eh?

23. and I find it comical that there are still those that like the "with us or agin us"
approach instead of a discussion of issues.

Oh well . . . . . I guess it is the easy way out.

8. Just what Obama needs
More horse trading of jobs for dropping out of races. Isn't this what cause Sestak trouble? Seems like we've had a couple of other incidents like this too.

Should CT Democrats in 2006 have thrown Lamont under the bus so they could vote for Schlessinger (the GOP nominee) in order to keep LIEberman out of the Senate? No, thank you!
