20. That is what makes it so amazing. The kitty is feral so it wouldn't be used |
|
to being cuddled but despite it being undomesticated, it seems to like being held. I would have thought a feral kitten would bolt from this sort of interaction.

25. It would, if the monkey were a human. A sound instinct which once caused me some sharp scratches by |
|
a wee, impossibly feral kitten.

13. Yes, and Koko named that kitty "All Ball" which furthers... |
|
my conviction that basketball is thoroughly encoded into the DNA of all primates, especially homosapiens. :)

I vaguely remember this story.

34. No, it was KoKo, the gorilla. The kitten that died was "Smoke," and her replacement was |
|
Edited on Wed Aug-25-10 10:59 PM by tblue37
"AllBall." KoKo named both of them herself.

6. Animal behavior can be so "human." |
|
or rather we humans are like any other animal. Of course other primates continue to evolve, just as we are.

14. He's a sloppy eater and attracts rodents |
|
The cat likely lives on rodents and insects if the zoo isn't putting out kibble for it.

12. That actually happens a lot |
|
and has been observed with a wide array of larger ape and monkey species. There has to be a natural affinity between felines and simian species. Felines are the one species that likes us and will seek us out. In return, many of us enjoy being around them.
That kitty looks perfectly happy to be where it is. When a cat is unhappy or frightened, the flat ears are a dead giveaway. The macaque looks happy to have a kitty for a friend and even carries it appropriately, supporting both ends.
