Shit.... it's not working
Edited on Wed Aug-25-10 02:37 PM by walldude
To whom it may concern,

You people need to get your shit together. Really. Because it's not working. Not at all. You are going to have to try much harder if you want to scare me. A Mosque in an old coat factory? Really? This is the best you can do? I'm supposed to be scared of some people worshipping some mythological figure in an old coat factory? Yeah I'm quaking in my little booties.

Social Security? This is all you got? Some rich jackass on TV telling me Social Security is a cow with 310 million tits? Are you even allowed to say tits in print or on TV? Really, you are going to have to do better than that old man. Go back to your gold plated bathroom fixtures and leave reality to real people. Ass.

Teachers? Really? I'm supposed to be afraid of teachers? Underfunded, underpaid, overworked, given a car with no wheels and told to win the Daytona 500, and I'm supposed to believe that the entire education system is fucked up because of.. teachers.. Yeah those bastards, taught my kids to read, to do math, they taught my kids how to learn and I'm supposed to be afraid of what those rotten bastards are doing to the school system. :eyes:

Obama? I'm supposed to be afraid of the scary Muslim Socialist Nazi Kenyan? After 8 years of George W Bush, terrorist attacks, 2 wars, economic meltdown, constitutional violations, signing statements, secret policy meetings, Guantanamo, Torture, Abu Grahib, deregulation and Wall Street Bailouts and I'm supposed to be afraid of Obama? I may not be happy with everything he's done and I may bitch about his appointments or policy decisions but please don't ever confuse my opposition with your paranoid fantasies.

I know there is an election coming up, and the time to try to scare the American people into voting against their own best interests is now but shit, is this the best you can do? It's a really sad state of affairs when the GOP and it's propaganda arms can't even get me scared of the Crazy, Nazi, Kenyan, Socialist, Muslim.

Next time you want to win an election, try not voting against health care for 9/11 first responders so you can keep foreign corporation tax loopholes in place. It looks really bad. Fucking idiots.

Oh and a note to the Democrats:
Here's your chance to prove me wrong. The Republicans are desperate and they have handed you the election all wrapped up in a bow. All you have to do is get off the stupid faux Mosque controversy and get the message back to the GOP likes foreign corporations more than 9/11 first responders. It's the only message you need to win. Try not to fuck it up huh...

13. Dark City.. one of my all time favorite movies...
Although I find that the directors cut drove me nuts. I can't for the life of me figure out why they changed it from June'ing to Tune'ing.. Still one of the best movies ever though...

15. Yea, you can see it many ways.
Edited on Wed Aug-25-10 04:24 PM by RandomThoughts
Or see it as a glimpse into the mind of some. That is how they think, they believe they can change the world.

Although it is just a movie... Meant to change the world... Does it program or do you learn from it. That is what I ask.

The data is what they try to stuff in your macros, the functions reveal what they are doing.

Don't you see, the data says one thing, if you just believe the data you let who sets it program you. But if you learn that they are inserting things in your macro, by things like media and ideas of fear, you can discard the data, and look for the functionality.

If you see the label, that is the data, if you see that they think they can control the world, and how they try to do that, then you can see the functionality and not accept what something just tells you but what you think and feel.

Is it John Murdoch? That is a label, why would it be correct from a movie, but then when you hear that name later, you get the programming from such movies, even if edited.

How many people heard the Murdoch name and cringed, why would they, it is just a movie, yet it has impact by programming.

Look at the functions, they put stuff in your heads.

And there is time for romance :loveya:

Many ways to see it that film, really it is probably the god power delusion, but it also shows other things.

"What are you going to do now..."

Strangers, how should we treat strangers?

And...

Welcome to the beach :) For those that think it is a game, who has Murdoch now? I don't think like that.

11. True, however they did make a huge mistake with the 9/11 responders vote
Can you imagine if the Democrats managed to get that as the forefront story of the election? Republicans vote to save foreign corporations money by denying health care to 9/11 first responders?

That's the election gift wrapped. If the Dems use it. Even the tea Baggers would have a hard time reconciling that shit...

34. My sentiments exactly.
If the Dems wake up, and IF is a big word. All two letters of it. Yet, I've seen them fuck up a two car funeral.

That's why I don't give the national Dem party money anymore. First, they wouldn't investigate NOR even think of impeaching the crackhead bu$h. cheney... forget about it. Want money? Tell the Dem hierarchy to spit in one hand and hold out the other for my money and see which one fills up first.
I've written letter upon letter and sent it back to them in their own prepaid envelopes. Every time any national, state or local Dem solicitor called, I explained why I wouldn't give to the party. I only financially back progressive candidates. Sen. Feingold is one.

They still don't get it.

I'll pay a $100 to see one of them come up with a pair of balls (other than Rep. Alan Grayson, whom I contribute to) and tell the conservanazis to go fuck themselves. But, no. No balls. It's the leadership. Put Alan Grayson and Anthony Wiener in positions of leadership and watch what happens. Once you confront the conservanazis on a national stage, they will fold up like a pup tent.

Dems, don't blow it. :grr:

45. I not only agree but...
...commend you for saying this.

Time to face-down the Republicons. That's the only way they will slink back under the rocks they came from.

My concern, as yours, is Dems who won't get their dander up. They are not mirroring the feelings and behavior of the people they represent. And the predominant feelings seems to be fear and anger. They don't seem to speak (shout) about this. You have to define a problem before you can solve it. We've let the RWs define the problems for too long. Seems like some Dems have lost the will to fight, but...

No fight. No money.

Anyway,

Thanks TxVietVet

39. Scare headlines straight off republican junk mail:
Here are some of their scare tactics right off some republican junk mail:

"The radical Obama administration is taking over our health care system. Help stop them now, before it's too late!"

So we get this gift to the insurance companies and what? The Obama administration is taking over the health care system?

And here's a question from a "survey" the RNC sent out under Sarah Palin's name:

"Do you think it is wrong for Barack Obama as President of the United States to continually bow and apologize to foreign leaders?"

Like the U.S. would never have anything to apologize for. Certainly not Iraq, where poverty and sickness has doubled, leaving the country a total disaster.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x8998373

Nothing to apologize for there, either!

That is the crux of it.

There are many issues our own party are afraid to go ahead and move left on as we speak. Indecisiveness and waffling are surefire ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. It's about time to rise up and take it. If that bunch of "ooooooh, scary" is all they have to campaign against, it should be an easy enough win for progressives everywhere. I DO hope the Democratic leadership TRIES not to fuck it up.

44. This should be sent to every Democrat...
...running for office and every voter.

We've let the RWs set the agenda (aka the battlefield) and define the terms of engagement for too long.

Yes, the Republicans (and certain paid for Dems) have added much to the discourse. They have convinced many Americans that:

Fear
Immorality
Greed
Blame
Self-destructive behavior (voting against your own interests, letting the environment become dangerous, making food unsafe, etc.)
Hypocrisy
Hate
Ignorance as a virtue
Lying
Theft
Bribery
Sadism/Schadenfreude
Murder

...are just fine as long you wrap (fog) it up in God or Patriotism.

They (All Republicans, yes ALL, and their Dem Donkeys) have increased the 7 Deadly Sins and then turned them into debate points.

Time for us to snap out of it. We should be leading the debate.

A touch of reality - in your face style - Thank you, walldude.

You woke me up.

52. Sums It Up For Me... Except For The Fact That We NEED Our Very OWN
Democrats in D.C. to REPRESENT US!! "We The People" because no matter how unafraid WE ARE, many "blue dogs" just are rolling over and NOT helping us all that much!!

We NEED them to REPRESENT an agenda that is strong for Americans who don't have any gilded faucets!! What's the un-employment rate in YOUR state?? They says it's a little over 14% here in Florida, but BETCHA it's closer to 20%

But for the most part I agree with the OP, and I also am one who doesn't rubber stamp Obama because of some of his policies, still it doesn't mean MY philosophy about once great Democratic Party has changed! I realize that life evolves and things must progress and change, however Democrats don't need to capitulate so much or flip over when confronted! We need "people" strength that we can believe in. Because of the D.C. Elite, OUR strength had diminished more than I had anticipated!

JMHO!!

62. It would take a little more than
that to scare me also. I myself have watched this style of politics for years its nothing new to me. Fear and ignorance have run rampant in this country for a long time. But I will say one thing if those tea party candidates happen to win an election in their district, well hey what they want us to do? I won't feel sorry for them. There have been some who say they are staying home because they didn't get this or they did not get that and a whole list of complaints that are valid and non-valid. But I salute this President and his work to be done and thank him for those he has helped even if its not me. Because at least there are those in the 95% that are benefiting from a lot of the things that he has done. So I will be voting in November and hope every one is doing the same. I am also reminding my family and friends that the vote is important and to exercise their right to cast the ballot. I believe when you vote, you voice your opinion and beliefs. And you are saying how you feel on issues of education, roads, transportation, fire and safety. The things that every community say they care about.

63. The only thing that scares me
is looking into the faces of flapjaw, moronic, racist, bigot, misogynist bullshit spouting Republicans and realizing that too many idiots out there can actually believe the foulness that they spew.

That alone is reason enough to fight passionately and vocally against all of their fear-mongering agendas.
