Are The RW Nuts TRYING To Provoke A Terror Attack, Either Consciously, Unconsciously, Or Both???
And it could be either an external group, internal group or both.

Are there any here that doubt that they would see an attack say from AQ as beneficial to them?

How would a bonifide RW nutcase terror event affect the current climate?

Discuss.

1. Yes.
And I guarantee this: If a major attack happened, there would be right-wingers literally, vocally, and publicly cheering.

2. Whats to discuss? It is a well used right wing nut tactic that goes all the way back to
Tricky Dick, no matter what reaction you get from dividing people just get a reaction to use against the opposing side to win an election. That was what Reagan was very good at and he played it better then any other politician in US history.

9. Unless...
the American public rallied around the flag (=the president) in the aftermath of such a hypothetical attack.

Who knows.

13. The very loud right wing media will do whatever it takes to prevent a 'rally effect'.

15. Absolutely
this is one of the problems we have in this country.

If a republican is in power... one type of reporting... if a dem is in power... another.

But we have a neutral and objective press, really... :sarcasm:

the Repugs use it against Obama.

4. Of course they are. Professional victims need proof of their victimhood.
Plus they need someone screwing up worse than they have to point to.

5. Sort of
I think their hateful rhetoric about the mosque is egging on RW teabaggers into some kind of violent attack upon American Muslims and/or their mosques.

7. I see a take over of our country by the far right...the money that
these wealthy repugs are pouring in...and the supreme court majority pro corporate...and the hate the gays, muslin, mexican, liberals (or progressive which ever one suits you) blacks...this has been a long time plan and it has progressed and probably soon to be a fascist country..I believe that if we can keep a dem in the white house it will be a little slower...

12. They are insane, that is obvious.
Not only are the right wing activists doing this, so are some elected members of the Republican party such as Michelle Bachmann.

17. I've actually had a few of them tell me that they literally hate Muslims and
are ready for an all out war to annihilate them on the grounds that they are themselves trained from childhood to hate and kill us "infadels". They insist that, in order to maintain our lifestyle (which they call me a hypocrite for), we must conquer those who have what we need. So, annihilating them would solve the religious fanaticism problem and we would get their resources as the spoils of war. And they're not in the least apologetic for thinking this way. They truly believe in it. And there's no reasoning with them.

In fact, they're planning a live chat discussion about this very thing tonight. (link is prohibited by DU)

18. I don't think these mental midgets have any concept of how many Muslims there are...
...world wide. I think they think that it's just
a few tribes of (racial slur)s in a few sparsely-
populated places in the Middle East.
