He spent the entire campaign and $20-million flip-flopping on positions he held but a few years ago, running to the extreme right of Hayseed in a desperate attempt to keep his day job, even disavowing his self-titled moniker of "Maverick," when the thing that actually helped him win in a landslide was old video that showed Hayseed pimping for "free government money!!!"
Had Johnny Boy spent $1.98 on a competent research team and told them to dig up everything on Hayseed, he might have found that video the day after Hayseed announced, played it on the TV machine and run unopposed, his positions and Maverick-dom still intact.
But he bought into the media meme that 2010 was an anti-incumbent year, and instead of doing the kind of things a seasoned politician would normally due to slap down an extremist opponent, he followed the script the media had prepared for him, and in the process, he ended up exposed as the hapless hack of an empty shell he has become.

1. I like McCain, although not in agreement with many things I would guess. |

Although I remember posting that a person has to be able to move within their own myth.
You don't let someone else create your myth, hence why what can be seen as flip flopping can be shifting within a larger sense of self, and not letting that be defined for you.
Although some flip flopping is from learning also.
Also in poker you move one direction till someone knows it, then you flip, so they can't predict your coarse. Although sometimes you can move with something if it achieves the same goals, or provides learning about an other thing. If not an enemy not to worry about it.

more shifting than our San Andreas fault (it's not his fault).
While I do agree with you that a person has to be able to move within their own myth, I'm not at all convinced that McCain is doing anything other than pandering to whoever he thinks might vote for him.
He is not learning (also), he is just opportunistic.

Mighty Mouse...he's gonna single handedly overturn Obamacare. Or so he says. I love these republicans and their spews. How in the hell is one senator in the minority change anything even with a filbuster.

7. I never liked him. I mean from many many years ago. And I've |
|
known quite a few republicans who didn't like him. Also going back many years. So why would I even look at a story about him? Just to see what his latest mistakes are, I guess. And I must say I like that. $1.98 for competent research. Funny, good. But think about it. You are a competent researcher, and you see him coming. You charge $1.98??? NO NO NO. You can't make a living like that. dc
