Watching a program on training PJ's
and damn they are at the point of doing a mass casualty simulation. It reminds me so much of what we did... and yes simulation was nothing compared to the real thing. I could never do the physical shit the PJs do... but some of that is bringing back memories, both of my own training oh in another lifetime... and training medics years later. Nice touch guys, a dummy sawed off in half with some fake blood... that was a nice touch.

1. Like the H1N1 scare?

Why would such a simulation be thought to have any effect, when other simulations have not had observable effects. The only observables I have noted is the sonic booms.

2. Well, when you train medics you train as you work
Edited on Thu Aug-26-10 12:48 AM by nadinbrzezinski
you work as you train...

This is the way things are.

And if you cannot understand that, well that's ok.

By the way... one reason WHO thinks this was not as bad is that it was a pretty mild flu when all was said and done. But given human history... problem is that people like you will not get it.

Me... will get my flu shot this year like every year. And I hope it is the COMBINED shot to avoid two sticks.

But I understand this...

Oh and PJs are para jumpers.

5. Good one on the PJ

That actually explains some things. Interesting connectivity there. I missed that connection.

What is it that I don't get?

I have a representative conceptual view of what a jumper is, from a book that I started writing years ago, but never made the symbolic connection with the Pajamas. Lots of topics around jump.

3. How can you possibly train for that?
You can't, not truly realistically, but the training is very important, nevertheless.

After watching that, you better cuddle the Chief good tonight.

Sweet dreams. :)

4. I did confined space rescue
but at one point I was actually invited to go for the paratroop unit at the Red Cross... I am so glad I said NO.

I'd rather do a high technical confined rescue any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

:-)
