I just love statements that succinctly and accurately encapsulate an inalienable truth. This is a comment on an msnbc article by a C. McCoy:

Then shouldn't I be a Republican as a white Christian?

The list also seems incomplete. Shouldn't "hate women" and "love men" be on the list just to make the cliche perfect?

3. That's a keeper...

I had a conversation with an old friend the other night. I used to think she was a thoughtful person but she has changed. She basically called the New York Time a left wing propaganda machine (she used to write for them). Now she get her news from the WSJ and recommended I watch FOXNEWS to see "the other side".

Her opinion of a Muslim Center on the site of the Towers was that It was just Muslims trying to stir up hatred. When I pointed out that Moderate Muslims all over the world were watching to see what we rally felt about them she opined that there are no moderate Muslims. When I pointed out that going to war with the Muslim population of the world was not a good idea she explained that wars generate money and would help the economy. (I know but I didn't even bother to mention the cost of the two we are now involved in).

This is a woman with an advance degree from Columbia who was a city social worker for years and prided herself on her independent/liberal politics. It was actually nauseating.

From your description, it sounds like some kind of mental or emotional breakdown or a sudden loss of judgment. I have real trouble with the idea of genuinely "smart" people mouthing republican lies and hate. I just can't make the two things go together.
