So, Let Me Get This Straight...
When a Republican blogger falsely accuses a black woman of racism (Shirley Sherrod), she is immediately forced by the Obama administration to resign... but when a rich white man insults 300 million Americans and shows utter disdain and contempt for the most treasured of American institutions, he gets to stay? Is it just me, or is there something WRONG with this picture?

3. Obviously a member of the professional left
Obama has done more for this country than any president in the last 50 years.
He's historic.
He's a BFD.
He plays three dimensional chess.
You must be a member of the professional left to bring up such a thing.
Be honest, you never really liked him did you?
Your stall is still empty isn't it?

36. I agree, a Jeb Bush tool from Fla met with Obama at the vineyard, he's running a race as an "indy",
He got out of the primary because he was going to lose to the other republican. Jeb endorsed the other guy. So now this Charlie Crist is meeting with Obama? Check this out....

Charlie Crist Secretly Went to See Obama This Past Friday

Posted by Erick Erickson (Profile)

Thursday, August 26th at 1:14PM EDT

We now have confirmation from the Crist campaign. Caleb and I have been working on this story.

We have eye witnesses who saw Charlie Crist in Martha’s Vineyard this past Friday. Now Crist claims he was not visiting the President at all and was there for a private campaign event, the details of which he is refusing to release.

But our witnesses say he very clearly was, at one point, in the company of secret service agents.

Crist was visiting Obama on the eve of the Florida Senate primary.

For what purpose? Ambassadorship? Undermining Kendrick Meeks? Promising support of Chuck Schumer for Senate Majority Leader in the next Congress?

Stay tuned . . .

http://www.redstate.com/erick/2010/08/26/charlie-crist-... /

I hope Floridians support the democratic candidate, they say he ran a good campaign

52. A politician does suck the public tit because his income comes directly from public coffers...
... a citizen receiving social security is not "sucking off the public tit" because for the most part, retirees are simply receiving back the money they PUT IN the SSI fund.

Veeeeeeery different scenarios, it is not just an insult, but a projection exercise by a degenerate.

I am fucking tired of these assholes thinking they own the money WE FUCKING PUT into the SSI fund. It is our money, we worked hard for it, we fucking paid it, getting it back when we retire is not "sucking off the public tit." And neither is helping the disabled among our population to be able to live with dignity.

17. Something wrong with that picture? Not really.
Shirley Sherrod was the target of a hit campaign that fooled the Department of Agriculture, and even the NAACP. As soon as they realized their error, they offered her the job back.

If she had been a racist, as it originally appeared to be, she should have been fired. Because as a public servant and a representative of the Obama WH, Obama shouldn't, and wouldn't, put up with that shit.

This other guy, on the other hand, does not represent the Obama WH. He represents Republicans. He's the member of a bipartisan commission, some of whom Obama agrees with, some of whom he doesn't. That's by design.

63. So Obama could have read to the cameras how much Simpson
takes in tax funded benefits, he has a Senate Pension for one. Simpson's 'apology' should have contained that bit of truth, which the President helps Simpson hide. Which he could have made public, or asked that Simpson make public as a condition of his post slander membership of this train wreck of a 'commission'. Nothing in DC is more of a wank that the 'commission' field.
Simpson is taking large pay to be on the commission, while taking his 'retirement' pension. Of course, no one points this out.
Why is it that Gibbs attacks liberals, but plays guard for Simpson?

68. Ah, so you condense all of my points to one hair, and then you
split it. My primary point is that the administration could and should be doing what you are telling DUers to do. Simpson's vast hypocrisy only stands because those around him do not point it out. And they could. The man takes more in public benefits than most Americans will ever see. Yet he slams Americans for taking benefits.
Want to discuss Simpson's high level of public benefits, and the total silence from the White House on that subject?

82. "Gibbs never attacks liberals" ??
you are incorrect:
“I hear these people saying he’s like George Bush. Those people ought to be drug tested,” Gibbs said. “I mean, it’s crazy.”

The press secretary dismissed the “professional left” in terms very similar to those used by their opponents on the ideological right, saying, “They will be satisfied when we have Canadian healthcare and we’ve eliminated the Pentagon. That’s not reality.”

Of those who complain that Obama caved to centrists on issues such as healthcare reform, Gibbs said: “They wouldn’t be satisfied if Dennis Kucinich was president.”

41. Gotta triangulate and all that
Don't want Republicans saying mean things about Democrats.
Rahm fired Shirley Sherrod because he's in fear of how Beck will distort the news. Fact is, Rahm is a spineless weasel ready to throw anyone under the bus who gets in Republican cross hairs. The unprincipled Emanuel needs to grow a set and become a real Democrat.
The idea that the base has no where else to go is a false choice. The base will stay home in droves because of betrayal by the White House.
Either Obama changes course or the Republicans will take over with the likes of Emanuel whimpering in the corner.
The only guy who could triangulate was Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama is no Bill Clinton.
Clinton's failure to pass health care led to the Republican take over in 94.
In 2009, the Democrats wasted a year debating the stinker of a health care bill because they were getting bribed daily by the insurance lobby that was spending 1.4 million a day to affect legislation.
Had they passed health care in two months they could have gotten to work on the economy and done something meaningful in job creation. But they chose to take insurance lobby money for as long as possible, and only passed health care shortly after Scott Brown took Ted Kennedy's senate seat.
That no one in the Democratic leadership was able to twist certain Senate arms speaks to the core of the Democrat's failure.
On the upside, I don't feel like I'm not doing my part withholding campaign contributions when they come begging.
If the likes of Rahm Emanuel can tell me I don't count, then there should be no problem when I say don't count on me.

57. Simpson has shown, indisputably, that he's contemptuous of Social Security...
He's biased. How can he possibly continue to chair that commission?

That should be reason enough for Obama to fire him. All I can say is Obama sure can grow a spine when it's in his interest to do so. I am more sickened by his behavior every day.

69. Yes, Obama refuses to dance with the ones who brought him
He's courting the girl with the rich Republican Daddy. He doesn't seem to care that she has two left feet and a bad case of Tourette's.

Obamas black. Seriously, check it out.

I think its more about repub/dem and have/havenots than race this time.

85. Simpson wins
If Simpson had made his remarks being black, he'd have been summarily executed. It wouldn't have mattered if he was rich and connected.

80. Simpson is a front
Edited on Fri Aug-27-10 02:16 PM by onpatrol98
They need Simpson. Simpson is a front for what the government wants to do. Dem politicians don't want to take the hit for tanking SS, so they find a GOP stooge WHO HAS NO PROBLEM putting his face on selling out the American people. He's there for the EXPRESS PURPOSES OF KILLING SS and no other reason...well, except to provide political cover.

This is why they spoon fed us the tale of republican obstructionism when WE HAD THE WHITE HOUSE, HOUSE & SENATE. They didn't want the same things we wanted, but knew we'd throw them out of office. So, they stood up a weakened republican party WHO WAS ALL TOO HAPPY TO PRETEND THEY ACTUALLY HAD POWER to say we couldn't have a public option.

It wasn't republicans. We had enough democrats to get whatever we wanted. But, we had some blue dog democrats who didn't want it. But, needed cover. The American people are stupid. Throw up the GOP. Literally.

They were certain that we would buy their fairy tale of "THE REPUBLICANS WON'T LET US". And, guess what...we did! With majorities in both houses AND THE WH...we went for the raw meat and took our eyes off the ball.

While we fight with neighbors and degrade people we don't know...we still don't have a public option. Pharmaceutical companies continue to rob us blind, insurance copays and premiums ARE ACTUALLY INCREASING, more job losses, a downright sad education policy, no energy policy to speak of...

WTH???

I say we need stronger primary challengers. Enough of career politicians. Send a new group every two years until they figure out they have to please us to remain in office. Stop fighting neighbors and start watching Washington otherwise we'll continue on this same path of doom.

This isn't my idea of HOPE...and there's been very little change. Was I expecting the President to do everything in two years? No. But, I have to be honest. I was expecting the combination of controlling both houses and the WH to equate to real change. If it doesn't...why do they ask us for money to send them back to Washington every year?

Shirley was mistreated and set up.
