Voters now trust Republicans more on all key issues!
Voters now trust Republicans more than Democrats on all 10 of the important issues regularly tracked by Rasmussen Reports.
The GOP has consistently been trusted on most issues for months now, but in July they held the lead on only nine of the key issues.
Republicans lead Democrats 47% to 39% on the economy, which remains the most important issue to voters. Those numbers are nearly identical to those found in June. Republicans have held the advantage on the economy since May of last year.

Recent changes according to the poll: Voters trust republicans more on government ethics and corruption. Republicans are trusted more on the issues such as War in Iraq, War in Afghanistan, Immigration, Social Security, and education... :argh: :wtf:

12. "recovery summer" and "the stimulus worked"
Most people have pretty short term memory with government - what have you done for me lately?

Republicans aren't presenting substantive ideas on anything so people don't have a current opinion one way or another. Meanwhile Democrats are saying "recovery summer" and "the stimulus worked" and "we created 1.4 to 3 million jobs" and the people are thinking "you're wrong".

Then the Democrats brag about "reform" they've accomplished but people say "my health care is the same or worse" and "what exactly changed with the financial system?".

20. Easily
People look at who's in charge and think "They aren't fixing things fast enough".

Short term memory is killing our world.

15. I was almost worried there for a second
We can't take anything for granted, and Democrats should work hard for the best results come November, but worrying about Rasmussen polls is a complete waste of time.

7. Rasmussen Polls Are Suspect Here
Rather than debate the efficacy of their polls it is better to point to the panoply of polls that suggest the Democrats are in real trouble.

010 is gone... If the economy doesn't improve 012 is probably gone too...

What a mess...

8. Whether this poll is accurate or even close is irrelevant. What does matter is that
Edited on Thu Aug-26-10 03:40 PM by T Wolf
WHATEVER traction the pukes have gotten can be DIRECTLY traced back to the Dems and Obama compromising almost everything positive away in damn-near every one of the bills that has become law since Jan 2009.

If they had produced a public option, forget about single-payer at this point...

If they had really regulated Wall street and the banksters instead of giving away the store...

If they had pursued policies that benefited actual people instead of the wealthy and corporations...

If they had ended the Iraq war a year ago and not escalated the Afghan one...

If they had come down on BP/Haliburton/et al instead of kowtowing to those who caused the Gulf disaster...

If they had embraced and pushed marriage equality instead of retreating behind BS double-speak...

etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc.............

The Democratic Party would be looking at increasing their margins in both houses to record numbers.

But surrendering to the reich is more important to them than upholding Democratic principles.

And yet, they fully expect us to fall in line and donate and work to get out the vote come November.

I don't think so.

I won't get fooled again.

9. Doesn't Matter To The Average Voter Who Is Broke , Knows Someone Who Is Broke
Edited on Thu Aug-26-10 03:42 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
Or is scared to death they might be broke themselves.

If the unemployment rate was north of 7% the Dems would pick up seats and in 012 Obama would be cruising to a Reagan like landslide.

10. Uh-damn-huh! Put people to work, by any means necessary, and support would follow.
But because of their half-assed efforts and total capitulation, the GOPsters are able to say, "See, those socialist plans do not work."

That is the relevant W quote here that the Republicans have used to get this.
