"As a former small-business owner," Boehner tells Biden ending Bush Cuts will DESTROY JOBS! DESTROY!

Boehner fires back at Biden on tax cuts
By Jordan Fabian - 08/26/10 10:58 AM ET

Vice President Joe Biden's position on the expiring Bush tax cuts will stunt job growth and make it harder to balance the budget, House GOP leader John Boehner (Ohio) said Thursday.

Boehner, who has openly sparred with the White House over the economy for weeks, responded to Biden's comments that Republican arguments for extending all the Bush tax cuts are "a bunch of malarkey."

“With all due respect to the vice president, Americans know we won’t solve the deficit until we cut spending and have real economic growth, and we won’t have real economic growth if we raise taxes on small businesses," Boehner said in a release. "As a former small-business owner myself, I can tell you that’s going to destroy more jobs and make it harder to balance the budget, not easier. To get our economy moving again, we need to rein in government spending, stop the tax hike, and end the uncertainty for our nation’s small businesses so they can get back to creating jobs."

The tax cuts expire at the end of the year, and Republican and Democratic leaders are arguing over whether to extend them.

Wasn't the catchiest slogan, but you work with the name you have, not the name you wish you had.

3. As a small business owner myself - I don't make anywhere near $250,000 so they are still
keeping the tax cuts for me. I would guess most "small" business owners are in a similar circumstance.

Medium/large business owners, that's another story.

8. i think perception is the problem. they say small business owners and THEY
(meaning boehner) means GE and other megolopolies. they are trying to scare you into thinking your going to get the crap taxed out of you so that you will go out and fight the sunset of these tax breaks. and it will work for some, because generally they seem to get the faux viewers up in arms thinking THEY are going to get the crap taxed out of them. then you and i will go out and bitch about a tax increase that doesn't even effect us but effects the big companies and rich people. it will look better coming from us. people for some reason don't sympathize as much with the rich folks not getting as much money to buy there mega mansions and super fancy cars.
