34. That's a damned good question.
How can anyone with a brain think that the Patriot Act is a good thing?

Candidate Obama thought the Patriot Act was was horrible and needed to be repealed. But suddenly once he was in office, not only did he decide he needed to keep all that extra authority as President, he suddenly needed to defend all of those Bush policies.

:wtf:

It was a disgusting, disgraceful flip-flop. It was a blatant bait and switch!

If he had honestly said as a candidate that he was going to do most of the shit he has done since he took office he would have lost the election by a wide margin.

15. No it shouldn't have
It should have been repealed years ago. Isn't it odd how quickly this comprehensive and far-ranging bit of legislation was put together and presented to Congress? Almost as if it was sitting in someone's desk drawer for some time, just waiting for the right moment to spring forth.

33. Hens' teeth not so rare after all (article)
http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2006-02/uom-htn022206.php

Scientists have discovered that rarest of things: a chicken with teeth – crocodile teeth to be precise.

Contrary to the well-known phrase, 'As rare as hens' teeth,' the researchers say they have found a naturally occurring mutant chicken called Talpid that has a complete set of ivories.

The team, based at the Universities of Manchester and Wisconsin, have also managed to induce teeth growth in normal chickens – activating genes that have lain dormant for 80 million years.

Professor Mark Ferguson, one of the scientific team at the University of Manchester, says the research – published in Current Biology this week – has major implications in understanding the processes of evolution. It could also have applications in tissue regeneration, including the replacement of lost teeth in humans.

35. Stop ruining my life! I have fun with these silly sayings, and now
all the fun is being sucked out of it. Maybe too much knowledge isn't a good thing.

Besides that, picturing a hen with croc teeth freaks me out.

21. Repealed yes, and each provision
sponsored, debated and voted upon as separate legislation.

Some provisions within it are good and can easily withstand constitutional challenge, others are to say the least, real stinkers.

45. Sure the T-baggers would defend it.
They use the same arguments and rationalizations they always do:

1) If you're not doing anything illegal, it won't affect you.
2) The suspension of the Constitution and Bill of Rights are necessary to prevent "Terra, Terra, Terra!" here at home.
3) Free, White and over 21 are exempt. Everyone else deserves what they get.

The ignorant masses can't comprehend how dangerous it is - even to themselves.

Repealed? It never should have been enacted to begin with, and since it was, it should have been repealed in January, 2009.

The Patriot ACT should have been repleaned the next day GWB was out off office in my wiew.. Its like have a minefield for the next president who want to play dictator... Even tho I belive George Walker Bush jr, and Cheney en all, was dam close to not just play dictator, but be a junta.. I would say, US was just an excuse from a flown blown dictatorship, under the comand of Rumsfeld and Cheney, with the flowerhead of Bush jr..

And even tho US was not put into a dictorship under the comand of Rumsfeld and Cheney, I would not be to sure that in the future, a new president, who is far worse than Bush jr was (I admit, it could be difficult to get a worse president for a while), could emerge, and make US, the land of the free, one of the cornerstones of democracy in the world (even tho the last decade have really damaged that image) into a full blown dictatorship, suported by The Patriot Act, MCA and other "specal laws" who was signed into law by the Republican Administration of George Walker Bush jr...

The Patriot act is an dangrous law, who can, and wil harm US sitizien to a degree you are not accusted to... Belive me when I say, that this forms of laws, is by their meer nature dangrous, and should be contained if nessesary.. And most of all, REAPEALED as fast as human posible...

It was just tre laws, and less than 1000 words, that made Germany, who had a democratic constitution (the Weimar Republic) to a full blown dictatorship, under the Nazi Regime in 1933.. And germany had a contitution that was as free as the US, as it was more or less modeled on the same system, even tho Germany was an parlamentarlistic form of Democracy...

How few words, and who few LAWS would it be posible to use, to make US a dictatorship?
