MEDICARE FOR ALL = day 18
Post it on the interwebs (not just the DU)
email everyone
contact all my reps
leave it around town (1000 business cards for $12 - cheaper than stickies)
write the editors
submit to the vent
sticker on my car
button on my shirt

Every day. Until we have it or I die.

4. The TRUTH is,
that Universal Health Care is a civil right. This has already been acknowledged in all other "1st world countries."
Information for the greedy/"we can't afford it" crowd : Universal Health care would SAVE Americans Billions of $$ within the first decade.
If, during the "health care debate", the CBO (Congressional Budget Office) had been allowed to present its findings to Congress or the American people,
this FACT would be the impetus for real change.
How ironic that the "real change" President, did not allow these unbiased numbers to even be presented to the American people or to become a part of the official Congressional record...
The power of money....

5. EXACTLY! Health care is a human right.
If the fire department can be called to rescue a cat from a well, our collective government can provide health care.
The National Guard is called out to rescue people from danger and injury why can the same thing be done for people
that need to stay healthy and are sick or dying?

Each day, 273 people die due to lack of health care in the U.S.; that's 100,000 deaths per year.

We need single-payer health care, not a welfare bailout for the serial-killer insurance agencies.

We don't need the GingrichCare of mandated, unregulated, for-profit insurance that is still too expensive, only pays parts of medical bills, denies claims, and bankrupts people. Republinazi '93 plan:
"Subtitle F: Universal Coverage - Requires each citizen or lawful permanent resident to be covered under a qualified health plan or equivalent health care program by January 1, 2005."

"We will never have real reform until people's health stops being treated as a financial opportunity for corporations."

14. Kick!
And along with Medicare for all: change the laws to mandate the government to negotiate for best prices for services. Force the drug companies to give discount pricing to the United States, just like they do in every other country that has a national health care program!
