The collector's plates:

The t-shirts:

If you're feeling depressed, discriminated against, or especially unemployed, just look at this stuff. It's supposed to make you feel better...

1. The top sticker is still on my wifes car
But!, we kept some of the posters and other items we had from serving as Get Out the Vote headquarters. It is all boxed up and tucked away for keepsakes.

12. Okay, to be fair: I'm wearing my "01-20-08 Bush's Last Day - The End of an Error" shirt.
My wife has a pink Obama hat. I've got several yard signs (saving them for 2012) and a shitload of bumper stickers I put on magnetic tape sheeting. I do that with all of my bumper stickers so I can move them around between cars and to match the current political climate. My eldest will be voting for the first time this fall - by absentee since she'll be at college in another state.

4. I managed to score an extra bumper sticker--
a miracle in NY, where none were available, period.

It's over my desk at work.

Oh, yeah, and the full color insert from the NY Daily News is still on my fridge.

5. My Veterans for Obama bumper sticker.
Edited on Fri Aug-27-10 09:15 AM by MineralMan
It's on the back window of my GMC Jimmy. It gives me pleasure to wave at the people who flip the bird at me after passing me on local streets.

6. Memories of a clean campaign that I managed
Edited on Fri Aug-27-10 09:18 AM by slackmaster
My candidate never uttered a negative word about any of his opponents, and never said anything that was not demonstrably true. We made lots of friends and met many interesting people.

We spent the least amount of money among six candidates, and got by far the most votes per dollar spent on the campaign.

7. My metro ticket with Obama's picture on it from Inauguration Day
A reminder of the huge crowds on the Mall and the lovely morning we had. Sparks the memory of * flying over the Mall for the last time and the low murmur from the crowds who restrained themselves.

Wish I could call the morning lovely, I almost froze my fingers and toes off! It was a lovely time though, we had a party the night before and internet friends came and stayed with us.

I'm in Ohio and we hosted volunteer campaign workers in our home. One of them invited us to her DC home for the Inauguration. It was great fun and more special as you know because we were new friends with a common thread!
