1. I agree, if they can find a stimulus that stimulates loans
so far, we give money to the banks via zero-percent loans, and they invest in bonds. Small profit, no risk, life is good. Why mess things up by loaning the money to home buyers or small business people?

If the next stimulus doesn't provide loans, then what's the point? Other than making their rich friends richer.

:hi:

2. what they need to do is have a stimulus that concentrates on growing
the public sector. They need to create jobs that will last for several years that do important public works projects. That is how it should be done. Aid to states, etc...

3. No what we need
Is for the goverment to step up and take hints from our past. The recession wont end companys start hiring again and company wont start hiring again until people starting buying again but people wont starting buying again untill companys starting hiring. Its a two edged sword, but the government is in a position were they can create jobs like roosevelt did in the 30's with the CCC and other programs.

Shoot, call it the "Roosevelt Initiative" for all I care, but it needs to be done.

5. What we need is direct stimulation of the Economy with American jobs - an Apollo program for energy
The Government needs to immediately start a massive research and development program to manufacture products to produce clean, renewable energy. No idea should be over looked, even if the pay off is years down the road. We need manufacturing facilities for wind, PV solar, and thermal solar today. And with the proper incentives and capital investment, we can start on those jobs today.

6. In Ohio, there is the Third Frontier program
A decent amount of grant money going to just that - via stimulus funds. They're still doling it out - I'm working on a proposal right now. It's not nearly enough, but it's a popular program (thx Sen Brown & Gov Strickland) and it's on the right track.
