1. Well that clinches it
The only way to save the United States from the awful prospect of the overrich paying their fair share is for the Democrats to make the ill-advised tax cuts of 2001 as permanent as they are able. Won't someone please think of Paris Hilton?

2. Yeah, but in this country, the top 1% outnumbers the bottom the 99%.
It's supply-side math. Or something.

3. There are just too many multi-millionairs in congress..both
sides of the aisle. How many have the intestinal fortitude to vote against their own personal interests? Never happen in this day and age.

5. Yes your are right
There are a lot of multi millionaires in congress, on both sides, but if democrats allow the Bush tax cuts to continue for the rich, they can kiss the elections good bye! Now I believe if they stand up for the average citizen who is not super rich and let the tax cuts expire for the top earners, they can make points that could help them in the elections. I also think they need to try and push through all kinds of bills that will help those in need when they come back to work and let the republicans vote against those bills to show the public who the republicans work for, and thats not the people of this country, but the rich and powerful!

I think the democrats can save a lot of seats if they can prove they are working for the people, but if they show they are no better than the republicans, well we could just be looking at the republicans in charge of congress and nothing getting done for at least the next two years!
