Why are Americans "detained" in Iran not getting more play?
It's not until the last four paragraphs of yesterday's Washington Post piece on potential U.S. talks with Iran that an interesting simmering situation is mentioned:

"U.S. officials acknowledge that the impeding talks are complicated by the plight of Americans detained in Iran. Radio Farda correspondent Parnaz Azima, who has been prevented from leaving Iran since January, has been summoned to appear today with her lawyer before a revolutionary court.

-snip-

The husband of U.S. scholar Haleh Esfandiari denied allegations yesterday in Iran's Kayhan newspaper, which is linked to Ahmadinejad, that the 67-year-old Potomac resident is fomenting revolution inside Iran and spying for the United States and Israel."

So why are these detained Americans not getting the propaganda flogging from the U.S Administration and the MSM that such a situation would seem to predicate? Why is Dick Cheney not seizing on this as part of his ongoing search for pretexts to bash Iran?

Curious to me, it seems.

1. Because they're not serious about the talks anyway?

A couple of detained Americans are nothing compared to cramming NUKE, NUKE, NUKE down everyone's throats. Besides we still have many of their people, invaded Iranian soil to get them and oh yeah we're funding a terrorist group inside Iran.

Hard to pick on a few American captives when our hands have much more dirt on them.

2. Just seems like the Bushies
would be using this as a propaganda tool - making all kinds of noise and demands for the "hostages" freedom and what not. That's their usual MO, i.e. the captured UK Navy boys. Why not with this?
