http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invasion_U.S.A._(1952_film)

It's one of the heavy-handed Red Scare films of the early '50s. Nowadays, we laugh at these over-the-top propaganda films and wonder how anyone took them seriously. Well, I'm sure that, in their time, they were every bit as effective as, say, 'The Path to 9/11' or 'United 93' was.

Someday, if we're lucky, our kids and grandkids will all get a laugh at what passes as serious news/documentaries. If we're real lucky.

1. in terms of over the top...
It's got nothing on the 1985 Chuck Norris actioner of the same name. There's a movie you never see on TV any more, probably because the networks are fearful the terrorists would get new ideas from it.

Interestingly, there is a scene in the film that parallels the fictional scenario mentioned at last night's GOP debate: a suicide bomber (Russian or East German in the film) attempting to blow up a crowded shopping mall.

Life imitating B-movie cheese?

3. Strangely enough, I use this stuff to revive my optomism...
"We will get past this and laugh at the general stupidity of it all"...

4. I hope you are correct about this! "This too...Shall Pass."
I've been telling myself this since Clinton Impeachment. I'm starting to think that the "pixie dust" has lost it's power. :D

But...gotta survive with some kind of humor rather than making oneself sick over it. Your attitude is probably the HEALTHY ONE! :D
