2. Let's face it: Bush was on vacation for 8 solid years and made a few

public appearances during that time.

Most of us knew it by 2005, but only liberals and anti-Iraq war people knew it from the facts about 9/11/2001 and the PDB's he had ignored wile on vacation that August 2001.

5. Obama's BIG Fail
the BP gulf oil spill

the worst environmental catastrophe in US history

the biggest environmental criminals in history allowed to "clean up" their own crime scene. Aided and abetted in their cover up and PR of the crime by the Obama Coast Guard.

There was no real clean up, instead they just dumped more toxic chemicals on top of the already toxic oil, just to hide the extent of the catastrophe. The Obama admin told them to stop using Corexit but they continued and this admin did nothing to stop them.

Now when investigations should be front center Obama is laying down while the Senate will not pass subpoena powers to investigate. He should be front center twisting arms like he did with defense appropriations and the $700BIL crooked banker giveaway. Instead he's laying down like the good corporate sell out he is.

this is just as bad if not worse than the bush Katrina fiasco.

7. Correct
the BP gulf oil spill is way worse than the Katrina disaster.

While Katrina killed more people initially the BP disaster is going to be killing people for years to come when all the clean up workers succumb to Corexit. Just ask the clean up workers from the Exxon Valdez.

and the environmental damage from the gulf spill is the worst in the nations history, arguably the worst in world history

and the White House aided and abetted BP's cover-up of their criminal acts, and they are not prosecuting them in any meaningful way.

The Senate is voting down subpoena power for investigations. Where's Obama twisting arms to get it through the Senate? You know, like he did with defense appropriations and crooked banker bailouts.

8. If we 'waste' money prosecuting anybody it ought to be
the people in charge of inspecting this shit!! While you're at it let's go after the farmers in Iowa with chickens infected with salmonella! GET A FUCKIN GRIP!! If we prosecuted every time something went wrong in this country, we wouldn't have money for anything else and my tax dollars can go to something more immediate and worthwhile. As stated on Sunday Morning, we've always been better at 'clean up' than prevention. Sad commentary but true (with the exception of Katrina, of course).

As for the spill killing more people in the long run, that remains to be seen. I'm not going to speculate on something that hasn't happened yet!!!

9. If
If you let criminals go free then nothing is stopping them from doing it again next time.

the worst environmental catastrophe in world history

UN-PROSECUTED

we have the largest prison population on earth, by total and percentage so we must be spending money on prosecutions

Just not on the real criminals

Clean-up crew deaths from the Exxon Valdez are well documented, this spill is magnitudes worse, as is the use of dispersants. Even people not directly involved with the clean up, those just living in the area are being affected.

""we've always been better at 'clean up' than prevention.""

this is not a clean up, it's a cover up.

10. And all catastrophes have collateral damage. It's virtually
unavoidable and I don't see this as a 'cover up,' just more theory. Yeah, we've got the largest prison population from prosecuting bullshit, I'll give you that, so lets waste some more money? Hell no! Again, let's go after the farmer in Iowa and the FDA!

13. Direct Damage
"I don't see this as a 'cover up,' just more theory"

uhh, the Coast Guard blocked reporters and repeated BP talking points as did NOAA

The White House said 75% of the spill was gone when scientists say 75% of the spill remains.

""Yeah, we've got the largest prison population from prosecuting bullshit, I'll give you that, so lets waste some more money?""

why not spend the same money in a more meaningful way?

""Again, let's go after the farmer in Iowa and the FDA!""

BP is worse, way worse.

Don't hold your breath, it will be just like the coal mines and BP.

The big corporations are running the White House and the country.

14. "The big corporations are running the White House and the
country." Duh...yeah! News flash! They ALWAYS HAVE and will continue to do so!! It's called CAPITALISM!! I'm not going to quibble over who's the worst offender but you can thank Ragun for the corporate monopolies and takeovers. Put the blame where it belongs. "the coast guard blocked reporters and repeated BP talking points as did NOAA." So what?! The reports from the media are just as skewed with sensationalism and spin!! I wouldn't have let em in, either! Smart move, as far as I'm concerned but certainly doesn't consitute a "cover up!"

"It's called CAPITALISM!!"

predatory monopoly capitalism, fascism more like it.

""I wouldn't have let em in, either!""

they're looking to hire people like you

""Smart move, as far as I'm concerned but certainly doesn't consitute a "cover up!""

what does then? Hiding the evidence is the very definition of cover-up.

16. Not allowing reporters in doesn't mean, 'hiding anything.'
It means, they are well aware of shit ass reporters who work for the corporate right wing and who will spin and sensationalize ANY AND EVERYTHING, especially against this administration. Cover up also implies, lying, which I, personally, don't think they did. If you DO, that's your perogative and I'm not here to convince you otherwise. Too, if you KNOW this is fascism/capitalism why would you expect anything different?! Like it or not, this is the way it is, in the good ole U.S. of A. Period.

17. No Reporters Means Secrecy
Secrecy, the first step on the road to tyranny, and this is from an admin that was supposed to bring more transparency, LOLZ!!!

Lying

-- 75% of the oil is gone, (when the real scientists say 75% remains)

-- It's safe to swim in the gulf and eat the seafood, after all Obama took his family there on vacation, ohh wait, that wasn't the Gulf, just a bay near the gulf.

11. This will make you cry
Flipping dial and saw Fox news ticker to recent "poll". Like 70% of people in Louisianna think that Bush did an absolutely fabulous job with Katrina compared to Obama handling of the oil spill. Soooo, save me my tax dollars and let them clean the shit up themselves....or, maybe, Bobby Jindahl (who they rate as super excellent---you know, the guy who doesn't want gov. money) figure out a way to do it for them. I'm tired of RED States and their everlasting, never-ending disasters and the wanting MY MONEY to help them while they hate everybody else on the planet.....

12. There is NO credibility in a Fox poll, in my mind, that's first.
Secondly, IF it was 'said' at all, it came from establishment owners, developers and entrepreneurs who are now reaping the benefits of pricing out the poor population of New Orleans. Nuff said.
