Final score: SEVEN points for us. ONE for BecKKK's megalo-vanity circus |
|
THE BAD NEWS FOR DEMS (one, compared to SEVEN good):
* "Bad" AT FIRST: Crowd turnout. NYT guessed 300-500K. WaPo & even Fox would only say "thousands." Later guess, 87K.
*****************************************
MORE GOOD THAN BAD NEWS FOR DEMS:
* The ENTIRE crowd was White.
* The BecKKKers were FORCED NOT to be who they really are: Were told NOT to bring signs because these signs would pop with their true racism and other Wingnut extremism. And their English spelling and grammar are tell-tale.
* The BecKKKers were being told they COULD NOT SHOW THEIR TRUE SELVES TO THE COUNTRY.
* The BecKKKer demographics: Old-OLD and White. And their prized core members are MALES of the lanky, bearded, and ball-capped variety, the total stereotype of what's under the ROBES.
* MOST BEST OF ALL: The BecKKKers/T-baggers were TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED by the content of the circus:: Predictably, by all the minorities on stage, but mainly by the deletion of their "politics," the deletion of their red meat. The cameras revealed the bearded ball-cappers STARING DOWN AT THEIR FEET and the Old ones staring STONILY AHEAD.
* Use of the main gimmick of Rethug National Conventions: Audience is all White; put almost only MINORITIES and SAFE Rethugs on the stage; HIDE all of the REAL and prominent Rethugs. Dig up and showcase all the minority TOKENS and STOOGES possible.
* BecKKK's own performance: He played it as SAFE as possible (deleting politics). His spiels were embarrassing "sermons" and pseudo history lectures. The BecKKKers & 'Baggers DIDN'T COME HERE FOR THIS. He's NUTS: Tried to usurp Geo.Washington & Alfred NOBEL, making up medals to give out and picking STOOGES to give them to (only STOOGES would ACCEPT them). The message his SAFE choices sent was that the broader population finds 'Baggers UNACCEPTABLE. He literally compared his "ministry" to MLK, Jesus, and Gawd himself.

What I see is that our modern day Father Coughlin has excellent organizational abilities, charisma, a huge following, a mass media bully pulpit, and backing from billionaires. You see something else. One of us is seeing reality.

2. I thought it was just one big group therapy session |
|
They used a lot of empty phrases that could mean anything. Country needs to turn to God, Country needs personal responsibility, country needs to celebrate what made it great... Nowhere does anyone tell you what these things mean. In the end it's empty phrases where the listener in the crowd fills in the blank in their own mind. It's the same crap fortune tellers use to make you convinced they know everything about you. Beck believes in everything you believe in because in the end YOU filled in the blanks as to what Beck actually believes. That isn't a political rally, that's a con game. There never was politics in it. It's not a political movement it's 87 thousand individual political movements. All these suckers will vote come November for candidates that likely believe things completely different than them. Yet they are convinced the Republicans stand for what they stand for. This tactic is old, but amazingly still works. There is one born every minute.

3. It's significant that FOX didn't carry the rally |
|
from bland beginning to bland ending. Maybe Rupe smells the west wind of BecKKK's ratings falling.
As for the teabaggers, Mormon BecKKK's influence should wane ergo Sarah Limbaugh will rise to become the 'baggers titular (no pun intended) head (no pun intended).

4. Beck did this for the media as much as for himself. |
|
He thought he could portray himself as 'mainstream' or even the leader of a 'movement' and NOT a racist, homophobe. He failed. The 87k were not amused. They were expecting monkeys to fly out of Sarah's butt. More repug promises not kept. Go ahead Beck, do another one next week, see how many show up.

6. There were no coded threats of violence |
|
And no displays of force, revolution or acts against minorities.
This is not what some of those people came all the way to DC to hear.
Even Palin was pretty subdued. No talk about reloading or Dems in the ":crosshairs".
87,000 morans got scammed and they're gonna be pissed.
The next few weeks should be ROFL hilarious.

7. Just to be clear: My whimsical "scoring" does not imply we are ON TOP |
|
I am scared shitless about the Wingnuts, AS ALWAYS, in their latest-whatever incarnation and their RISING TIDE. I agree with somebody else's thread that we are going to have to have a showdown some day. And I am unfortunately all too aware of how disorganized and SOFT we always are in combatting the wingnuts.

8. Beck played to the media, but pissed off his fans..... |
|
I agree that it was not a smart move.
Beck is nothing without his fans. The media may cover his circus, but I doubt they take him very seriously as a leader.
